BO6 January 3 Zombies Update Addresses Persistent Bug Still Affecting Gameplay

Despite assurances from developers regarding the resolution of a Vermin glitch in the January 3, 2025 update, players of Black Ops 6 Zombies are still experiencing frustrating problems with this enemy type.

Treyarch rolled out the first patch for Black Ops 6 following the holiday hiatus on January 3, which included several adjustments to Scorestreaks in Multiplayer and enhancements to the Elemental Sword feature in Zombies mode.

Patch Claims vs. Player Experiences

Among the updates detailed in the release notes, one specific mention revolved around addressing a glitch related to the Vermin. The patch notes stated, “Addressed an issue where Vermin could sometimes hit twice with one attack.” Unfortunately, many players are reporting that this particular bug persists.

The controversy surrounding Vermin attacks has been ongoing for weeks, primarily due to their one-shot kill potential and erratic damage outputs. Even though the January 3 update was anticipated to alleviate some of these problems, numerous players feel that the developers have failed to deliver a meaningful fix.

Evidence of Continued Glitches

A Reddit user recently shared video evidence on the Zombies subreddit demonstrating that the Vermin bug still exists, contradicting the patch notes. The clip clearly shows a single Vermin attacking twice in one interaction, resulting in a complete health drain for the player.

Further scrutiny into the player’s health indicates a drop from 180 to 113 HP, followed by a catastrophic hit reducing it to 46 HP. In just a few moments, the Vermin inflicted a staggering 134 damage, which is astonishingly beyond what should be possible.

Another user in the discussion remarked, “There are literally 2 damage markers on your front side after he hits you ‘once’. That’s crazy.” This sentiment resonates with many players who have encountered similar glitches post-patch.

One player expressed their frustration with the persistence of such issues, indicating that this is a recurring theme within the franchise: “That’s just a CoD classic by now. The patch notes say something is fixed while nothing has changed. This happens with most major updates; they really need to get their act together.”

Unfortunately, the complaints do not end with the Vermin glitch, as additional problems have emerged since the January 3 patch. Players have also reported a nerf to camo farming in Directed Mode, further complicating the Zombies experience.
