BoA’s Reasons for Preferring to be an MC Instead of a Judge

On April 19th, ‘ESQUIRE Korea’ fashion magazine published a video titled ‘The most challenging choreography for BoA to perform?’ on its official YouTube channel.

BoA provided valuable insights into her production process for ‘NCT WISH’ during the interview, discussing the difficulties of bringing together a variety of talents within the group.

She remarked, “First of all, I think the biggest mission was to make sure that these people were united well. In fact, they are not people who have been training together, so they are all mixed with those who have practiced for a long time and those who have trained for less than a year.”

BoA’s Comfort as an MC

During an interview about her versatility beyond singing, BoA disclosed,

“Being an MC is more like ‘BoA’ to me than being a judge. I’m not that harsh. But the judge has no choice but to say bitter things for the future of the contestants. Every time I did that, it was really heartbreaking. But the MC can just say, ‘You’re good, you’re good,’ so I feel more comfortable.”

She mentioned, “Don’t we always receive goods from our fans? I wanted to give them something. I wanted to give gifts to the fans who came to see me at all three music shows, but the production came out late, so I could only give the t-shirt to selected people. I worked hard packaging them.”

Despite sparking speculation about her future in the music industry with an Instagram post, BoA has not officially announced any plans to retire. In the post, she simply questioned what she will do once her contract ends, causing some fans to speculate about her intentions.

Later, it was clarified that she had used a term that was not typically found in dictionaries, which only added to the mystery. Fans and netizens took to speculating about its meaning, with some proposing that it could possibly refer to leaving the gym or being a typo for “retire.”

Despite rumors questioning her identity, BoA’s recent appearance sparked online discussions. Nevertheless, she remains dedicated to promoting her music and released her latest single “Emptiness”on March 26.
