After aespa’s “Supernova”debut performance on “M Countdown,”K-Netz expressed their disappointment upon seeing Giselle’s physique.
On May 16, the quartet that recently returned with a double title track, “Supernova,”performed on stage for the first time on Mnet’s “M Countdown.”
Despite the unfortunate fire that broke out during the pre-recording, it is clear that aespa gave their all to deliver an exceptional performance, accompanied by the enthusiastic and synchronized fan chants of MYs.
In multiple online communities, their performance quickly became a popular subject among both K-Netz and K-pop fans, not just for their singing and dancing abilities, but also for their striking visuals.
Undoubtedly, the four members impressed MYs with their unique charms, with NingNing particularly standing out for her style and beauty that perfectly complemented their concept. Winter and Karina were also praised for their AI-like appearances.
A supporter made a comment:
“Today, aespa’s ‘hemeko’ (hair, makeup and coordination) looks great together. They also performed really well on stage. Looking at the ending, I can only say congratulations to all of aespa as they are a group of super pretty girls.”
Giselle unfortunately did not receive equal amounts of compliments, as some Koreans began to shame her for her weight.
After reading the comments, K-Netz began to launch a barrage of malicious remarks directed at her, including:
- “Giselle’s ‘yoyo’ effect is so bad. Did she gain weight again? But NingNing seems to be in crazy form these days.”
- “It’s their comeback, but Giselle is not taking care of herself? She lost weight and gained it again. It seems like NingNing is aespa’s visuals now.”
- “Just by looking at her, I really don’t know what’s pretty with Giselle. But ever since aespa debuted, NingNing doesn’t look that good because of her styling, but I always thought that she’s pretty.”
- “If it weren’t for Giselle, aespa would have been in the top-tier average visuals among fourth-gen female idols.”
- “All other members are AI characters, but why is Giselle’s drawing style different?”
- “Giselle should have lost weight, not get a double eyelid.”
- “They’re not a super beauties group because of Giselle. They should kick out Giselle.”
- “Giselle may have a hard time, but I hope she can keep it maintained once she loses weight. It’s just good that she doesn’t get sick when she loses her weight.”
- “Giselle is so ugly.”
Following the release of “Supernova,”aespa also dropped the MV for their b-side track, “Licorice,”on the 16th. This upbeat dance song captures the sensation of being drawn to someone with an alluring and unique charm.
The sound source, along with aespa’s first full-length album “Armageddon,”will be officially released on May 27th. The album will consist of 10 songs, including a double title track with the same name.
