Boosting Tolerance Levels in Metaphor Through ReFantazio

At the beginning of your journey in Metaphor: ReFantazio, enhancing your Tolerance may appear to be straightforward. Once you encounter the Royal Virtues, the initial NPC you meet in the Grand Trad is a Masked Man who can enhance your Tolerance simply by listening to him. However, as you progress and travel to various locations, you might reach a stage where options for boosting your Tolerance seem scarce. Fortunately, Metaphor: ReFantazio offers numerous strategies to elevate your Tolerance, and below is a comprehensive list of these methods.

Throughout the principal areas, there are various NPCs who share their thoughts or teachings. Engaging with them can enhance your Tolerance. One notable NPC is the Masked Man you will find in Sunshade Row, who shares insights about the Sanctism religion. Listening to the negative perspectives from these characters cumulatively boosts your Tolerance.

As you unlock new areas in the storyline, keep an eye out for other characters, including a Masked Woman in Thoroughfare Square, a Man with Cow and another Masked Woman in Martira, an Earnest Youth, a Maskless Mustari, and an Activist Woman located in Altabury Heights.

Assisting in the Inn’s kitchen

Using your leisure time to assist with cooking at the inn is another way to boost your Tolerance. During this process, you’ll be given dialogue options and must select the appropriate steps involved in preparing specific dishes. Each correct answer yields three points, while incorrect choices grant only two.

Perusing literature in the Gauntlet Runner

Upon reaching the traveling phase in the story, you will explore the world using the Gauntlet Runner. While on your journey, you will have some downtime that can be spent with other followers or indulging in a book from the available shelf. The titles to look for are “Bygone Days”and “How to Walk Outside the Island,”as reading these will contribute to increasing your Tolerance.

Participating in Tolerance-rewarding quests

Several quests throughout the game award Royal Virtue points along with other bonuses. The first such quest granting Tolerance points is the Pagan’s Dilemma, located in Sunshade Row given by the Mustari Man. The quest only involves buying medicine from the church on Sunlumeo Street and delivering it back, and it doesn’t consume much time, making it a virtually free source of Royal Virtue points without much sacrifice, apart from spending some Reeves. Be sure to complete this before the deadline, as time is of the essence.

Additional quests that offer Tolerance points include Efflorescent Youth in Port Brilehaven and Warmth in Winter in Altabury Heights as your adventure unfolds.

Some quests are designed to strengthen your relationship with specific characters, leading to an increase in Tolerance upon completion or when reaching the necessary bond level. This mirrors the Foreword and Prologue quests, which enhance your Imagination once your Healer archetype hits level 10, but focus on a follower in this scenario.
