Boruto and Naruto’s Unique Designs: Symbolizing Differences and Hinting at Boruto’s Ultimate Fate

Boruto and Naruto’s Unique Designs: Symbolizing Differences and Hinting at Boruto’s Ultimate Fate

Boruto and Naruto have distinct character designs that effectively highlight their evolution and progress in their individual series. While Naruto’s attire in Shippuden signifies his personal growth and independence from his previous attention-grabbing orange outfit, Boruto’s transformation in Two Blue Vortex symbolizes his own journey towards maturity and the challenges he has faced.

Despite their shared experience of time skips, the protagonists, Naruto and Boruto, had vastly different encounters. Naruto’s time with Jiraiya was a positive training experience, while his defeat against Sasuke Uchiha was a major setback. In contrast, Boruto’s time with Sasuke was filled with intense situations, adding to the tension present in the manga’s sequel.

Please note that this article includes spoilers for the series.

Explaining the Thematic Differences between Naruto and Boruto’s Outfits in Their Respective Time Skips

Naruto’s childhood attire, consisting of vibrant orange clothing, was a means for him to stand out and grab the attention of others. It also symbolized his inner insecurities as a result of growing up without a family. However, in Shippuden, his outfit underwent a change, incorporating more black and less orange. This shift represented his growth and maturity, as well as his determination to achieve his goals, which stemmed from his failure in bringing back Sasuke Uchiha.

Despite this, the son did not possess many possessions. Due to Eida’s Omnipotence, he was labeled as a criminal and relied solely on Sasuke for support and guidance. As a result, his appearance reflects the forced maturation he had to undergo. He dons his mentor’s cloak as a symbol of the responsibility he now bears, with Sasuke and Naruto no longer in the picture.

Although both protagonists have had significant roles in their respective series, they each arrived from their respective time skips in very different circumstances. Despite Sasuke’s departure and Naruto’s mission failure, he returned to the Hidden Leaf Village in a positive state. Meanwhile, his son is currently facing numerous challenges.

The latest installment of Blue Vortex revealed that Himawari possesses the ability to wield Kurama’s power, indicating a level of Bijuu control that exceeded fans’ expectations. This could potentially have a significant impact on the plot, especially since author Masashi Kishimoto appears to be keen on expanding Himawari’s role in the narrative.

Meanwhile, in chapter 10 of the manga, we see Sarada Uchiha facing off against Hidari, who possesses some of her father Sasuke’s chakra. This battle holds immense significance for Sarada and will also give Hidari a chance to shine after being overshadowed by Jura in the recent chapters of the Boruto manga.

Concluding Remarks

Despite being in the same series, Boruto and Naruto experienced vastly different time skips. The difference is evident in the changes seen in Sasuke’s cloak, which could potentially foreshadow Boruto’s future as a martyr in the story. However, this remains mere fan speculation for now.
