Boruto Fans and the Possibility of Shibai as the Final Villain: A Forgotten Otsutsuki Rule Explains Why

Despite Naruto and Sasuke’s enduring popularity, the Boruto series has seen a significant increase in the power levels of its characters, particularly the newer villains such as the Otsutsuki. Of all the Otsutsuki, Shibai stands out as the most formidable due to his role as the god of the story’s universe.

Despite the majority of the fandom speculating that Shibai will serve as the main villain in the story, various other hints concerning the Otsutsuki suggest that Shibai is not likely to harbor any harmful intentions towards the series’ main character.

Despite being introduced in the later parts of the Naruto series, members of the Otsutsuki clan have remained relatively unknown and unexplored throughout its successor story. While there has been limited information revealed about them, it is evident that the Otsutsuki chakra fruit harvesting operations are carried out in pairs, much like the Akatsuki.

It has been confirmed that Momoshiki was accompanied by Kinshiki and Kaguya escorted Isshiki, which serves as evidence for this fact. As of now, there are no signs that Shibai has any malicious intentions towards Earth. From a storytelling perspective, it would not be logical for Shibai to intervene in these events, as he has already attained “godhood.”

It has been verified that, like other members of the Otsutsuki clan, Shibai traveled between planets in pursuit of chakra fruits to attain godhood. Since Shibai had already achieved this status, it can be assumed that his companion was also of great significance.

It is plausible that Shibai’s ex-partner, who is also striving for godhood, is manipulating the current storyline with nefarious intentions. It is highly probable that Naruto’s son will seek assistance from Shibai in order to defeat this “mastermind,”mirroring how Naruto and Sasuke sought help from the Sage of Six Paths to defeat Kaguya.

The Otsutsuki’s unrelenting quest for the chakra fruit remains a mystery, and the common belief among fans is that they seek godlike power akin to Shibai. The story also reveals the existence of high and low-ranking families within the Otsutsuki, indicating a strict hierarchy within the clan. However, the exact reason for their pursuit and the structure of their society have yet to be fully revealed.

The existence of a sovereign governing these families is reinforced by this discovery. While there is a chance that Shibai fills this role, their ascension to godhood has made it unlikely. Therefore, it is highly probable that someone closely connected to Shibai Otsutsuki is overseeing the families and directing them to gather the fruits.

Despite the current focus on the Ten-Tails’ transformation into the humanoid Shinju, the recent chapters center on the unexpected survival of Kurama within Himawari. While the Otsutsuki have been temporarily sidelined, it is certain that they will play a major role as the primary antagonists in the final arc of the Boruto story.
