While the focus of the Naruto manga was primarily on the Jinchuriki, the Boruto manga shifts its focus to the Otsutsukis. However, the latest developments in the manga suggest that Kaguya Otsutsuki, a character from Naruto, plays a larger role in the plot of Boruto than initially believed by fans.
Towards the conclusion of the Naruto series, Kaguya Otsutsuki made her debut as the first member of the Otsutsuki clan to be featured in the franchise. While some may have assumed that Kaguya only had ties to certain members of the clan, it is still plausible that she could be the daughter of the Otsutsuki deity, Shibai.

Boruto: The Significance of Kaguya and Shibai’s Unique Names
On YouTube, @YoungWask, a fan of Boruto, suggested that Kaguya Otsutsuki could potentially be Shibai’s daughter, the Otsutsuki God, which would explain why she was referred to as the Rabbit Princess. It is possible that her father had been residing on Earth for a considerable amount of time. This could have influenced Kaguya’s decision to betray Isshiki and pursue the Chakra fruit, believing that it was her rightful inheritance.
One more indication of Kaguya’s potential connection to Shibai is her name. Unlike other Otsutsuki names, which typically end with “shiki,”both Kaguya and Shibai have distinctive names. This can be observed by the names of other Otsutsuki characters in the series, such as Momoshiki, Kinshiki, Urashiki, and Isshiki.
While Kaguya may not be Shibai’s biological daughter, she could still be his descendant. If Kaguya truly belonged to a royal family, it would have been common knowledge among its clan members. However, Shibai’s supposed “Omnipotence”could explain why this information has been forgotten, as he may have utilized Shinjutsu to erase it from the minds of those who knew the truth.
It is possible that this is the reason for the existence of a God Tree on Earth prior to Kaguya’s arrival. According to Aino, a friend of Kaguya, the God Tree had been on Earth for thousands of years before Kaguya descended to the planet.
Despite the legend surrounding Shibai, he may have been the sole creator of the tree. Yet, it is possible that someone else would have remembered this information.
Hence, the erasure of people’s memories by Shibai appears to be a reasonable explanation for the Otsutsuki members’ forgetting that Kaguya was Shibai’s descendant.
Additionally, harvesting a God Tree would typically indicate that someone had used it to absorb the chakra from the Earth. Despite this, the state of the planet appeared to be undisturbed.
Therefore, it is possible that Shibai, like Kaguya, had sympathy for the planet and discovered a method to collect the fruit without harming the ecosystem. The benevolence displayed by the two Otsutsuki may also suggest a familial connection between them.
Despite this, there are some fans who do not subscribe to this theory and firmly believe that Kaguya Otsutsuki was only of middle class status at most. Those who viewed her as royalty were solely individuals from Earth.
It is clear from the way Momoshiki and others referred to Kaguya that she was considered a crucial member of the Otsutsuki clan. However, the full extent of her role within the clan cannot be verified until the release of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, which is expected to uncover more information about the Otsutsuki clan.
