Boruto: Possible Foreshadowing of Two Blue Vortex Events in Relation to Madara’s Lore in Naruto

Upon the release of chapter 12 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, readers were introduced to Thorn Soul Bulb, a new character in the manga. Due to its appearance, many fans may have drawn comparisons to the Chakra Fruit from a God Tree, but it was later revealed to be a distinct entity.

Interestingly, the current occurrences in the manga involving the Thorn Soul Bulb appear to have been hinted at in the lore concerning the Chakra Fruit. In Naruto, Madara Uchiha had previously discussed the origins of the Chakra Fruit with Hashirama Senju, and it is now strikingly similar to the events unfolding in the series.

Please note: This article includes spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.

Naruto’s Madara May Have Foreshadowed Thorn Soul Bulb in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Reddit user u/Redditname97, a Boruto fan, has proposed a theory that suggests Madara Uchiha may have foreshadowed the events related to the Thorn Soul Bulb in Naruto Shippuden.

In the anime, it was depicted how the masses revered the God Tree as a holy pillar. It was said that once every millennium, the tree would bear a fruit known as the chakra fruit. According to legend, this fruit was never meant to be consumed. Despite this warning, a princess took a risk and ate the fruit, hoping to gain the powerful chakra within it to aid in her war efforts.

Kaguya Otsutsuki was revealed to be the princess. She then gave birth to two sons who inherited the chakra that resided within her. As a result, the Divine Tree gained sentience and began rampaging to reclaim its chakra. This being was known as the Ten Tails. Kaguya’s child, Hagoromo Otsutsuki, was the one who ultimately stopped the Ten Tails.

Upon learning that Madara was familiar with such lore, Hashirama appeared perplexed. In turn, Madara disclosed that he had come across it while reading the Uchiha Stone Tablet.

According to u/Redditname97, the explanation may have also been a hint at the current events in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga. Similar to Kaguya’s actions in the past where she used the Divine Tree’s Chakra to gain an advantage in war, the sequel manga depicts Code using pieces of the Ten Tails to create the Claw Grimes in order to battle his adversaries.

The reaction caused the Claw Grimes to transform into sentient God Trees and begin rampaging in an attempt to consume their intended victim. This behavior was also observed on a smaller level in chapter 12 when Jura aggressively pursued Boruto and his companions in order to retrieve Hidari’s Thorn Soul Bulb. These occurrences bear a striking resemblance to the Divine Tree’s transformation into the Ten Tails in order to reclaim its stolen chakra.

In the past, Hagoromo Otsutsuki successfully thwarted this danger. However, in the upcoming Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, it appears that “Boruto Otsutsuki”will play a crucial role in bringing an end to the conflict.

According to Madara Uchiha, he acquired knowledge of past events through the Uchiha Stone Tablet. Similarly, in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, it appears that Boruto and Kashin Koji have glimpsed into the future to uncover what lies ahead. There have been multiple indications from Boruto that a potential disaster may arise if Code and the Claw Grimes are not stopped.

Upon reading a tablet, one of Boruto’s toads in the manga hinted at events that may have been foreshadowed by creator Masashi Kishimoto long ago in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, or perhaps he desired to reimagine the lore of Naruto in the sequel manga.
