Boruto: The Foreshadowing of Boruto and Kawaki’s Fates in Two Blue Vortex

Ever since the announcement of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, fans have been attempting to interpret the significance of its title. While the previous manga, Naruto Next Generations, had a clear meaning, the same cannot be said for the sequel manga, Two Blue Vortex.

Despite initial confusion surrounding the title of the series, a theory shared by an anime YouTuber provided a comprehensive explanation. The surprising theory not only shed light on the meaning behind the title, but also offered clues about the eventual outcomes for Boruto and Kawaki. Interestingly, this theory draws upon elements from the one-shot manga, Naruto: The Whorl within the Spiral.

Please note: This article includes plot details from Naruto: The Whorl within the Spiral and Boruto manga.

The Possible Connection Between Boruto: Two Blue Vortex and Minato One-Shot Manga

According to That Guy Craig, an anime YouTuber, the title of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga may be related to spirals, helixes, and vortexes, as he theorized.

In Naruto: The Whorl within the Spiral, Mito Uzumaki taught Kushina Uzumaki about the distinction between a spiral and a helix. A spiral is a flat shape that continuously rotates without changing its form. This symbolizes many characters in the franchise who have yearned for change in their lives but have been hindered by their inability to grow.

The shape of a helix is similar to that of a spiral and symbolizes growth. However, unlike a spiral, a helix is a three-dimensional shape that is constantly evolving and never-ending. The manga suggests that individuals can also display a helix-like behavior and experience growth, but this is only possible with the presence of love. Several characters in the franchise, such as Obito Uchiha, Kurama, Nagato, and Gaara, exemplify the characteristics of a helix.

When it comes to a vortex, it is not entirely different from a spiral. Though it may have a defined shape and can resemble a helix, its path is unpredictable, making it dangerous. It is evident that the features of a vortex closely resemble those of characters in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the majority of characters have distinct ambitions, yet none of them possess a clear vision of their objectives. Code’s circumstances perfectly illustrate this phenomenon.

Initially, Code’s main motive was to defeat Kawaki as he had become the vessel for Isshiki instead of Code. Moreover, Code’s crush, Eida, had also developed feelings for Kawaki, which only fueled his desire to eliminate him. However, Code’s plans were thwarted when Eida’s Shinjutsu accidentally swapped the positions of Kawaki and Boruto. As a result, Code’s focus shifted from Kawaki to Boruto. This was a common occurrence for many other characters as well.

Keeping this in mind, popular YouTuber That Guy Craig speculates that the title of the manga is derived from Kawaki’s pivotal role in choosing between two opposing forces – Boruto and Code. Despite his conflicts with both characters, Kawaki shares similarities with them. He shares a similar backstory with Code and shares the same goal as Boruto in safeguarding the Hidden Leaf Village. This leads to the possibility that the manga’s title foreshadows Kawaki’s inevitable decision between the two paths.

The fates of both Boruto and Kawaki will be greatly influenced by the path that Kawaki decides to take.
