On July 13, the preview illustration for chapter 12 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex was released on the official website of the Naruto franchise. The manga chapter is scheduled to be published in Shueisha’s V Jump super-sized September edition on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

In the previous chapter of the manga, Himawari Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha found themselves facing a difficult situation as they were both surrounded by God Trees Jura and Hidari. He then quickly utilized the Flying Thunder God Technique to instantly transport himself to Hidari’s position.

The God Tree had already trapped Sarada and was preparing to consume her. Suddenly, Boruto appeared above Hidari and swiftly severed his arm, successfully saving Sarada. With this heroic action, Boruto rescued both Himawari and Sarada. The sudden arrival of the Otsutsuki caught both God Trees by surprise.

Despite these advancements, fans were eagerly anticipating the showdown between Boruto and Hidari in the upcoming manga chapter. Luckily, a sneak peek for chapter 12 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex also hinted at this, showing Hidari using his transformed curved blade-like forearms to attack the protagonist.

As shown in the preview, Boruto placed Himawari on the ground and swiftly used his sword to defend against the attack. Immediately after, he utilized one-handed signs to perform Wind Release: Breakthrough in order to push Hidari away from him. This action suggests that Boruto was likely trying to create distance between the God Tree and both Himawari and possibly Sarada.

Despite being featured in the series before, Boruto has not yet been seen using the jutsu Wind Release: Breakthrough. The Fifth Kazekage Gaara, Kokage Yanagikage, Mitsuki, Orochimaru, and the anime-only character Bando are the only characters who have used this jutsu in the franchise.
