Despite being incapacitated in Boruto Two Blue Vortex, Sasuke Uchiha is finally saved in Chapter 12.
As Boruto Two Blue Vortex starts, three years have passed since the prequel’s events, leaving readers wondering about Sasuke’s location. After much speculation, it is revealed that he has transformed into a tree by the Shinju.
During the time-skip, he was captured by the Ten-Tails incarnates and his chakra was used to create a new Shinju, named Hidari. The new Shinju joined the others in their invasion of Konoha, searching for Naruto but instead finding Himawari.
In Chapter 4, when we first discover Sasuke’s fate, it appears to be a permanent and unchangeable outcome. However, in Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 12, we learn that this is not the case. In this chapter, the main character battles and successfully overcomes Hidari.

After being slain by Kawaki, the Shinju leaves behind an unusual item that Kashin Koji recognizes as the Soul Thorn. Boruto discloses that it is the sole remedy for Sasuke’s condition, but the outcome of the treatment remains unknown.
Despite its origins, the Soul Thorn seems to be the opposite of the Shinju’s creation. The chakra that is drained during its creation is then contained within the object after their passing. As a result, it has the power to revert someone from a tree back to their human form.
It appears that the existence of the Soul Thorn is not widely known. This includes the Konoha shinobi and Kawaki, who are among those who are unaware of its existence. Boruto likely became aware of it during his travels after Sasuke’s encounter with the Shinju.
In the twelfth chapter of Boruto Two Blue Vortex, Jura makes the decision to eliminate the protagonist upon discovering his understanding of the Soul Thorn. He launches an assault on both Boruto and Sarada in order to obtain the item, proving its threat to the Shinju and potential impact on their existence.
Nevertheless, it remains a mystery how the ninjas will retrieve the Soul Thorn from Jura. Fortunately, all will be revealed in the upcoming chapter.
