Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 Reveals Final Identity of Shinju

After much anticipation, Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 finally unveils the prototype of the fifth Shinju.

The Shinju serve as the main antagonists in Boruto Two Blue Vortex (at least for now). They were first introduced in the manga as a quartet, consisting of Hidari, Matsuri, Mamushi, and their leader, Jura.

However, towards the conclusion of Chapter 13, the four Shinju abandoned Boruto and the Konoha shinobi to welcome their new member, confirming that a fifth (and presumably final) God Tree Incarnate will be joining their ranks.

This isn’t the first hint at a fifth Shinju. Koji Kashin‘s foresight indicated a vision of the God Tree Incarnates in the future, showcasing not four, but five beings. Notably, the ultimate Shinju bore facial markings reminiscent of Gaara‘s adopted son, Shinji.

The fifth Shinju: Ryu

Since then, the community has been buzzing with theories suggesting that Shinji could be the final Incarnate’s prototype. This theory gained traction as Hidari, Matsuri, and Mamushi were all formed from the chakra of Sasuke, Meogi, and Bug, respectively.

Nonetheless, differing views emerged, with some fans speculating that due to his importance, the final Shinju prototype could be based on characters like Kakashi or Guy. However, Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 clarifies that it is indeed Shinji‘s chakra that has been utilized to manifest the new villain.

In this chapter, Kankuro pays a visit to Shikamaru in Konoha to relay the news that both Gaara and Shinji have fallen to the Shinju, and the latter has developed the ‘tree affliction,’ which signifies that he has transformed into a tree after his chakra was used to form the final Shinju.

The closing panels of the chapter illustrate the new member being introduced as ‘Ryu’ by Jura and the others. His appearance closely resembles Shinji, leaving no doubt that the black sand user is the prototype for this new villain.

Ryu will fully embrace the role of the new antagonist in the forthcoming Chapter 15, scheduled for release on October 20, 2024. In the meantime, explore the shocking revelations behind Naruto and Isshiki‘s battle and Masashi Kishimoto‘s reflections on Sakura.
