Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 15 May Be Introducing Code as the Next Shinju Antagonist

The release of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 15 on October 21, 2024, highlighted a pivotal moment where the Shinju publicly disgraced Code for spying on them from an alternate dimension. While the exact motives behind Code’s risky espionage remain unclear, it may tie into a widely discussed theory suggesting Code’s ambitions of ascending to the role of the next Shinju, possibly linked to his quest for power.

This intriguing theory posits that individuals transformed into chakra experience healing of their injuries while imprisoned within the chakra tree. Therefore, Code’s secretive observation of the Shinju might be aimed at witnessing Ryu’s emergence, seeking a way to replicate the process to recover his lost eye, which he tragically sacrificed in battles against Sasuke and Boruto.

In Chapter 15 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Ryu was born from a Thorn Soul Bulb using chakra from Shinki, who is ensnared as a chakra tree. Upon his arrival, Ryu employed his Iron Sand technique to extract Code from the alternate realm where he was clandestinely observing the Shinju for unknown reasons.

Once exposed, Code insisted that the Shinju reserve the chakra fruit for him. When his requests were brushed aside, he attempted to strike Jura, but his efforts backfired, resulting in the loss of his arm. After a moment of confrontation, Code departed, vowing to demonstrate his superiority to the Shinju.

Code’s dire state in this chapter stemmed from losing his eye in a previous encounter with Sasuke and Boruto. As he currently navigates a challenging situation without an arm and one eye, it appears likely that his motive for spying on the Shinju could revolve around finding a means to reclaim what he has lost.

The community has long theorized that becoming a chakra tree means that injuries can fully heal, irrespective of their severity, due to a connection with the Ten-tails.

This perspective suggests that Code might be driven to observe Ryu’s birth and the actions of the Shinju through the Thorn Soul Bulb, ultimately considering the possibility of regenerating his own body. Such a transformation could position him as the next Shinju, empowered by White Karma, elevating him to the status of a formidable Tree God.

Concluding Thoughts and Analysis

This line of thought, however, remains speculative. The chakra fruit is a product of the Ten-tails evolving into the Divine Tree, necessitating an Otsutsuki to be fed to it.

If Code were to become a chakra tree, it would mean he was consumed by the Ten-tails, resulting in negligible gain. This outcome would also imply that Isshiki could lose his last remaining follower. Furthermore, since the Shinju possesses their own will, Code would merely be a vulnerable chakra tree left susceptible to confrontation and defeat.
