The ninth chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, which was released on April 19, 2024, shocked fans by bringing back Kurama and causing speculation about the possibility of Himawari becoming a “Naruto 2.0”.
After Hinata was revealed as Kurama’s next jinchuriki, many fans have been speculating about her fate. They believe that her role as the wielder of a chakra similar to Naruto Uzumaki, the previous jinchuriki of the nine-tails, will play a significant part. However, considering her already existing powers of the Byakugan, there is a possibility that her chakra cloak, achieved by Naruto after mastering Kurama’s power, will share the same color as hers.
This article will discuss the potential for Himawari to become the Naruto 2.0 of the Boruto series and anticipate the changes she may experience in future chapters as the next jinchuriki of the nine-tails.

Why Himawari May Become the Next Naruto in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex
In chapter 9, Jura and Hidari found Himawari by tracing the nine-tails chakra. The InoShikaCho group worked hard to protect Himawari from the God Trees and also had a brief conversation with her.
After being informed by Koji about the God Tree’s invasion, Boruto returned to the Hidden Leaf Village. Coincidentally, as soon as he entered the village, he crossed paths with Kawaki. Despite attempting to attack the protagonist, Kawaki was easily defeated and mocked for neglecting his training over the past four years.
As seen in chapter 9 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Himawari and the InoShikaCho team were shown escaping from the God Trees after Jura’s attempt to harm Himawari with a Tailed-Beast bomb. During their escape, Himawari was suddenly transported to the mental plane of the tailed-beasts where she encountered a young Kurama.
Since the tailed-beast mental plane could only be accessed by jinchurikis and the tailed-beasts, Himawari was officially selected as the next nine-tails jinchuriki. As a jinchuriki, Himawari would have the opportunity to master control over the beast’s chakra, similar to how Naruto learned to control the nine-tails with the guidance of Killer Bee.
In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 9, the young Kurama appeared comfortable and familiar with Himawari. This suggests that Kurama may have retained memories of his previous life as Naruto’s jinchuriki, making it possible for Himawari to learn how to control his chakra. This could potentially make her a “Naruto 2.0″in the Boruto series and allow her to develop a similar chakra cloak like Naruto’s once she gains mastery over Kurama.
The Color of Himawari’s Cloak
With Himawari now the jinchuriki of Kurama, there has been much speculation among fans about the potential color of her cloak once she masters its chakra. Similar to how Naruto’s cloak is orange due to a combination of Kurama’s chakra and his Sage mode, it is possible that Himawari’s cloak may also reflect a similar color blend. In Naruto’s baryon mode, his cloak turned red as he solely utilized Kurama’s chakra.
In order to guess at the color of Himawari’s cloak, certain fans have taken into account Hinata’s cloak in the Last Naruto movie. Hinata’s cloak had a purple tint due to her Byakugan abilities. By merging this purplish hue with the red of Baryon mode, it is possible that Himawari’s cloak could have a reddish-brown shade.
The Boruto anime could have potentially hinted at Himawari’s eventual possession of Kurama.
Will Himawari Uzumaki continue to have a significant role in the story following the events of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex?
Himawari has the potential to become a more perfect Jinchuriki than Naruto in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
