Boruto: Two Blue Vortex was named after the Uzumaki siblings, and Chapter 9 preview proves it

The highly anticipated release of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 9 is scheduled for Friday, April 19, 2024. A sneak peek of the chapter was released by the manga nearly ten days prior. Although it confirmed some theories from chapter 8, many fans are speculating that the revealed details may hold a significant clue about the series’ title.

In the previous chapter of the manga, the God Trees Jura and Hidari came to the Hidden Leaf Village in search of the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. Despite not knowing Naruto’s whereabouts, Jura was able to sense the chakra of the Nine-Tailed Beast. As they followed the chakra trail, they eventually encountered Himawari Uzumaki.

This article includes spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.

Uncovering Himawari’s Role in the Two Blue Vortex Arc in Boruto Chapter 9 Preview

After the release of the preview for chapter 9 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, a Boruto fan on X with the username @Hinaaa_Uzumaki_ proposed a theory that the two “Blue Vortex”in the manga’s title could potentially represent the Uzumaki siblings – Boruto and Himawari.

The title’s “blue vortex”may be a reference to Boruto and Himawari’s blue eyes. Initially, viewers speculated that the two blue vortexes represented Boruto and Kawaki. However, upon further consideration of the fact that both Boruto and Himawari have blue eyes, it becomes clear that Boruto and Himawari are the two “Blue Vortex-es.”

Despite its shortcomings, the preview did include a significant detail: an illustration of a vortex or spiral in Himawari’s background. This suggested that Himawari was being portrayed as the second “Blue Vortex.”The text also contained the term “rasen,”which means “spiral”in Japanese. This translates to “The Spiral of Destiny”in the complete translation of the text.

Despite this, it is important to remember that the theory was subtly referenced in the third chapter of the manga. While the chapter was titled “Uzuhiko,”a term that was thought to be linked to Boruto, the cover art prominently featured Himawari Uzumaki. Despite fans initially disregarding this hint, it has now become clear with the emergence of this theory.

Furthermore, it is well known among fans that manga author Masashi Kishimoto is selective in introducing elements that are crucial to the storyline. This suggests that Kishimoto had significant plans for Himawari’s character, as he deliberately chose to have Naruto father two children rather than just creating Boruto.

If this theory holds true, it would explain why Momoshiki Otsutsuki warned Boruto that he would lose everything because of his blue eyes. It is possible that both Jura and Momoshiki see Himawari as a potential target, and they may pursue her, causing Boruto to endure even more hardships in the future.

Despite this, it is important for fans to note that Kawaki was also depicted with a spiral illustration on the cover of the fourth chapter. This further supports the theory that the two “Blue Vortexes”mentioned in the manga’s title could potentially be referring to either Naruto’s biological children, Boruto and Himawari, or his biological son and adopted son, Boruto and Kawaki.

Ultimately, Kawaki’s Karma was his greatest downfall and guaranteed his failure against Boruto.

Despite being one of the most underrated jutsu in Naruto, Boruto’s training in it is still incomplete.

It appears that Himawari may soon inherit Kurama’s Chakra, as evidenced by Boruto.
