Ever since the beginning of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, it has been clear that the protagonist has become incredibly powerful after the time skip. However, despite this, there is still one aspect that the Momoshiki vessel has yet to fully control – his karma.
The previous chapter of the manga showed the protagonist’s return to the Hidden Leaf Village during the invasion of the God Trees. However, Kawaki and Delta appeared before him, having just confronted the God Trees Jura and Hidari moments earlier, blocking his path.
Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.
Boruto’s Struggle with Karma in the Manga
Despite fans’ anticipation for an epic showdown between Boruto and Kawaki in the Hidden Leaf Village, the manga’s previous chapter ended with the protagonist swiftly defeating his opponent within mere seconds.
Despite the embarrassment that came with the situation, Kawaki was able to identify a major weakness in his opponent – his karma. As soon as the protagonist had knocked him down, Kawaki’s former Isshiki vessel activated his karma in an attempt to continue the fight. However, this decision ultimately led to the protagonist retreating.
As soon as Kawaki activated his karma, Boruto’s karma also resonated and became activated. Since the protagonist had no ability to control his karma, he was compelled to distance himself from Kawaki. This revelation of Boruto’s limitation will play a crucial role in the future of the manga, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
The reason for this is that, up until this point, the manga had depicted the protagonist as an overwhelmingly powerful character, capable of defeating anyone except for the God Trees. As a result, it appeared as though the character had no potential for further development. However, with the disclosure of the drawback, the manga can now concentrate on the protagonist’s efforts to gain mastery over his karma.
The plot development effectively highlights the parallel between the protagonist and deuteragonist. Although Kawaki lacks expertise as a Shinobi, he excels in managing his karma, while Boruto is a talented Shinobi but struggles with controlling his karma.
Despite this, the protagonist’s main struggle is not with controlling his own karma, but with the fact that Momoshiki Otsutsuki can still possess him. In contrast, Kawaki’s karma serves as a vessel for no Otsutsuki, causing no negative consequences when activated and granting him its powers. Therefore, the protagonist’s journey to master the control of karma will likely be a significant focus of the story moving forward.
It is worth noting that, in the beginning of the series, specifically in the flash-forward scene, the protagonist appeared unfazed by the activation of his karma. He displayed no desire to back down, indicating that he had either gained control over his karma or found a way to defeat Momoshiki Otsutsuki.
Both potential outcomes are incredibly thrilling. Therefore, the main character’s downside is sure to result in significant advancements in the plot. Followers will need to closely monitor the situation.
