But that wasn’t the only noteworthy event in the chapter, as Boruto and Kawaki also had a significant encounter that led to another Karma Resonance.
Recently, fans had predicted this event and now, with its confirmation, there has been speculation that Boruto’s sudden departure could potentially lead to a fusion with Momoshiki. Although this theory may seem far-fetched currently, it holds some truth and could greatly impact various characters in the storyline.

Explaining the theory of Boruto potentially merging with Momoshiki after the recent Karma Resonance
In chapter 9, Boruto took flight as his Karma resonated with Kawaki, possibly to prevent merging with Momoshiki and escalating their fight.
According to a theory shared on both X and Reddit, the updated version of Boruto is able to maintain control over the effects of Karma Resonance, but still displays traits of Momoshiki during battles. This is clearly seen in the post-time skip version of the character, particularly when observing his behavior while fighting compared to when he is conversing with others.
This version of the character chooses not to engage in unnecessary battles and is not very talkative. However, when faced with combat, the traits of Momoshiki start to manifest. In battle, he becomes more arrogant and boastful, possibly as a way for author Masashi Kishimoto to build up his credibility as Naruto’s son after the time skip. Alternatively, this could foreshadow future developments for the character.
According to the theory, Boruto’s thoughts start to blend with Momoshiki’s during battles, potentially leading to a change in his personality. Nevertheless, despite undergoing rigorous training, he has developed enough strength to maintain control and resist giving in, setting the stage for potential challenges in the future.
The Aftermath of the Karma Resonance and More
The protagonist’s recent meeting with Kawaki played a crucial role in shaping their current situation regarding their Karma, which has once again become a major subject of discussion among fans. While it was previously believed that Naruto’s son had complete mastery over their Karma, recent developments have raised doubts about this notion.
