Boruto’s Journey with Kawaki: Insights from Kishimoto, Kashin Koji, and More

The fandom has been heavily discussing Boruto’s exponential growth since the end of Part 1 and the timeskip leading up to Two Blue Vortex. While some have taken note of the protagonist’s demeanor, the significant increase in his power level has raised questions among fans about the relevance of other side characters and the antagonist, Kawaki.

The protagonist’s power level in the Two Blue Vortex manga has significantly increased, causing many fans to speculate that Kawaki will soon receive a sudden boost in strength.

Kishimoto and Ikemoto’s recent interview unveiled the protagonist’s character development and hinted at Kawaki’s imminent transformation as he rises to the same level as the protagonist.

It is possible that the newly discovered characteristics of Shibai cells are intended to play a significant role in Kawaki’s development.

This article contains spoilers for both Two Blue Vortex and Boruto part 1. Please proceed with caution.

After the time skip at the end of Part 1, Boruto’s power level has increased exponentially. This significant growth coincided with the introduction of the Shinju, who are currently the most formidable adversaries in the series.

The protagonist’s growth has not only shaped his character and demeanor, highlighting the immense responsibility he carries, but has also solidified his position as one of the most powerful shinobi in existence.

In the meantime, Kawaki, who serves as the primary antagonist and the protagonist’s main rival, has not displayed much development in terms of strength or character. However, in a recent interview, Kishimoto and Ikemoto revealed that while the protagonist has made great strides, Kawaki is on the verge of a transformation that will close the distance between them.

During the events of Two Blue Vortex, both Kawaki and the protagonist encountered the Shinju.

Despite the protagonist’s valiant effort, only one of the Shinju was subdued while Kawaki suffered a complete defeat in the battle. It has been made clear that if the protagonist were to die, Kawaki would be powerless against the Shinju and would ultimately be sacrificed.

The revelation of the Shibai cells being responsible for Kashin Koji’s ability to see the future, Eida’s all-knowing powers, and Daemon’s ability to deflect attacks, may hint at their significance as a potential plot device for Kawaki’s development.

The utilization of the “Hashirama cells”in the Naruto series was a comparable concept that had a significant and frequent presence as a plot device, ultimately serving as a power-up.

Despite Amado’s defection to the Hidden Leaf Village and his possession of a sophisticated container with temperature controls, it has not been confirmed if he has Shibai cells.

There is a chance that Amado had brought along some Shibai cells, which could potentially be utilized to enhance Kawaki’s abilities at a later point in the narrative.

Conclusion

The Hidden Leaf Village arrests the protagonist at the end of Two Blue Vortex Chapter 13. Fans can look forward to the release of Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 on September 20, 2024.

It could potentially expose the beginning stages of a conflict within the village caused by the differing perspectives of the main character and the other villagers.
