Ever since the debut of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, viewers have witnessed the protagonist of the series employing a range of innovative jutsu. This clearly indicates that his training with Sasuke Uchiha, his master, was fruitful during the time gap. However, the protagonist still possesses one jutsu that he has not yet fully utilized.
Despite being the son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga, Boruto may not possess the same level of proficiency in jutsu as his parents. This is due to the fact that he has not yet manifested the Byakugan, which prevents him from fully utilizing the Hyuga clan’s prestigious Gentle Fist jutsu.

Is Boruto Capable of Utilizing Gentle Fist Techniques?
Although Boruto Uzumaki is capable of using Gentle Fist, he is unable to fully harness its power due to his lack of Byakugan. As a member of the Hyuga clan, Boruto was trained in the Gentle Fist technique. However, without the Byakugan, he is unable to fully utilize this form of hand-to-hand combat.
The Hyuga clan utilizes the Gentle Fist, a hand-to-hand combat technique that targets an opponent’s Chakra Pathway System. This results in internal damage and can harm the organs connected to the specific area of the chakra network that was attacked by the user.
In order to perform this technique, the user must carefully inject a specific amount of their own chakra into their opponent’s chakra pathway system. This requires a great deal of concentration and the ability to examine their opponent’s chakra pathway system. Therefore, the Gentle Fist technique relies on the user possessing a dojutsu to scan their opponent’s body.
Despite lacking the manifestation of a Byakugan, the protagonist is unable to utilize the full potential of the Gentle Fist, meaning he is unable to deliberately inflict severe internal damage. This limitation also prevents the Seventh Hokage’s son from using other Hyuga techniques derived from the Gentle Fist, such as Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms, Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists, and Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven.
Despite this, the main character is not completely incompetent in his use of Gentle Fist. As shown in the series, although he initially could not fully utilize the technique without the Byakugan, it is possible for him to employ it through the Jougan’s manifestation.
The Jougan’s ability to perceive the flow of chakra allows the user to clearly see their target’s chakra pathway system. This means that Boruto is able to track a target’s movements by observing the visible changes in their chakra. As a result, it can be argued that the protagonist should be able to utilize the Gentle Fist technique with the help of the Jougan.
It is important to note that the protagonist possesses impressive speed and expertise in taijutsu. His physical power, which allows him to lift a man twice his size, greatly increased when he attained the status of a full Otsutsuki. This will undoubtedly aid Boruto, a skilled taijutsu practitioner, in mastering the Gentle Fist technique. However, the manga has yet to reveal Boruto’s full potential in utilizing this technique.
