Boxing Legend Offers to Fight Jake Paul “For Free” but Alleges YouTuber is Afraid

A former boxing champion has expressed interest in clashing gloves with Jake Paul, especially after plans to face Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez fell through. Despite this willingness, he remains uncertain as to whether Jake’s team would entertain the idea.

In recent years, Jake Paul has aggressively pursued matchups with major names in the combat sports arena, including figures such as Conor McGregor, Dana White, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, and Tyson Fury. One of his most ambitious ambitions has been to challenge Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. For an extended period, Paul believed that a bout with the Mexican superstar was inevitable.

That prospect appeared promising when reports indicated that a fight date was set for the summer. However, Canelo shifted directions, opting instead for a lucrative four-fight deal with Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia, putting Jake’s aspirations on hold.

Carl Froch’s Willingness to Face Jake Paul

As Jake continues his search for an opponent, former super middleweight champion ‘The Cobra’ Carl Froch has stepped into the conversation, ready for a potential bout. However, Froch noted that dialogue between him and Jake’s camp has been minimal in recent discussions.

On his Froch On Fighting YouTube channel, Froch declared, “They might come to me now and ask me for a fight instead of me giving them a load of s**t and saying I’m calling him out. But I’ve always said it, and I stand by it, I’ll fight Jake Paul for free.”

Froch elaborated on his conditions for the fight, stating, “They said ‘OK if you’re doing the fight for free, it’s got to be all the money to charity and all the affiliations, and anything you make from the fight has got to go to charity.’”

Continuing with a hint of sarcasm, he added, “I said alright, pass me the contract; I’ll get it signed and I’ll knock Jake Paul’s teeth down the back of his throat. Guess what? They went quiet. They’ve got no intention of fighting anybody with a pulse.”

Despite not having fought since 2014 and needing to move up in weight to meet Jake, Froch has previously thrown down the gauntlet, even suggesting he would take on the ‘Problem Child’ with one hand behind his back. This potential matchup could certainly spice up the current landscape of boxing.
