After a customer, who TikTok viewers are comparing to Maui from the film Moana, noticed a young woman trapped inside a McDonald’s bathroom, he slammed his body into the door to free her.
During their vacation in Hawaii, Joyce and her friend decided to stop by McDonald’s. However, while they were there, Joyce’s friend got stuck in the restaurant’s bathroom.
Joyce shared a viral TikTok video with the caption, “Imagine this: your friend gets trapped in the restroom at a McDonald’s during your vacation in Hawaii.”
Despite the restaurant employee’s attempts to use their keys to open the door, it remained stuck. Joyce explained that they had to convince the manager to unlock the door from the outside as she initially did not believe them.
The video also revealed the perspective from within the bathroom, where the door lock was stuck.
In that moment, a customer stepped in to assist and prevent the situation from escalating. Utilizing his sturdy build to shield himself from harm, the customer forcefully pushed against the door.

After multiple tries, the man successfully opened the door for the girl who was trapped, allowing her to be freed. According to Joyce, the kind stranger who had overheard them came to the rescue and saved her friend.
The viral moment received widespread praise from viewers for the man’s courageous act of using his body to free the young woman. One commenter wrote, “I’ve been waiting for my boy to have the perfect opportunity to showcase his bravery. Great job!”
Some individuals drew comparisons between the man and Maui from the film Moana, noting the uncanny resemblance between the two.

Despite expressing a desire to do so, another viewer also inquired about whether Joyce and her friend were able to buy the rescuer a meal as a token of gratitude for his kindness. However, they were unable to do so as the man had already purchased his own food beforehand.
In the past year, a different woman faced a similar situation when an Amazon delivery driver left a large package in front of her door, causing her to become trapped behind it.
Afterward, she had to patiently wait for several hours until her friend could come and move the package, which was blocking the only door that led outside of her house.
