As stated by the charming Adjoa Andoh in the latest video, “Let’s aim to look stunning and avoid constantly wearing eye-burning yellow.”Many viewers would share the Lady Danbury actress’s opinion on Pen’s signature style in the first two seasons of Bridgerton. According to costume designer John Glaser, the main character’s wardrobe in Seasons 1 and 2 served as the starting point for her costumes. However, Glaser also noted that they were mindful of the pace at which her wardrobe would evolve. Instead of gradually transitioning, they opted to swiftly alter her silhouette and color choices, as the designer explained.

It was Erika Ökvist who took on the responsibility of giving her a more mature appearance this season. The makeup artist wasted no time in replacing the previous season’s established looks. She began by…

“Rather than replicating the makeup from Season 2, we opted for bold and vibrant colors. While it may not have been the most complementary to her skin tone, it perfectly suited her character. Ökvist remarked, “We utilized all the lighting to accentuate her cheekbones and give her a radiant glow, showcasing her as a confident and independent woman for the world to see.”

Nicola Coughlan was thrilled with the transformation. She exclaimed, “This is fantastic. It’s going to be so much fun for the audience when they see the big change and it looks like a completely different person.”The actress also reflected on the contrast between the first few years on the show and the present.

Coughlan remembered, “It was a stark contrast to how she was before, with her rosy cheeks and fresh appearance. This change really benefitted the character as she needed to grow in confidence. It also helped me gain confidence and feel good in the costumes. It was a fantastic experience.”

How Does Colin Change in Bridgerton Season 3?

Despite Penelope being the center of attention this season, her potential love interest has also undergone a transformation in the upcoming episodes. It only takes a quick online search to see fans praising his new wardrobe pieces, including a stylish “pirate coat”.

After speaking with costume designer John Glaser and hair and makeup designer Erika Ökvist, TVInsider learned about the transformation of Colin from a boy to a man. It appears that, similar to Pen, color played a significant role. However, adjusting the fit of his clothing to give him a more “sturdy”and handsome appearance also made a significant impact.

During an interview with the site, Ökvist praised John for his work in transforming him and also highlighted his impressive bone structure. Ökvist specifically mentioned his chiseled cheekbones, strong jawline, and unique eyebrows that resemble seagull wings.

If you search for an image of any cartoon hero, you will likely find one that resembles him. In the first and second seasons, we incorporated soft and rounded shapes in his design to convey a youthful appearance.

The wardrobe upgrades for Colin in Season 3, mentioned by the costume designer, were meant to reflect his personal growth. Glaser explained that the new outfits feature a darker color palette, lack of ruffles, and open shirts with a hard collar.

“All objects have taken on a tough, masculine form. Furthermore, we previously mentioned that the subject has grown and developed. In fact, he has shed his roundness and adopted a more angular appearance, so we had to adapt accordingly.”
