Bridgerton Season 4: Latest Updates, New Cast Details, and Essential Information

In 2021, Bridgerton was renewed for a fourth season. This announcement was not surprising, considering the immense popularity of the Netflix series adapted from Julia Quinn’s historical romance novels. With Season 3 now in the books, we can look forward to the story of Benedict Bridgerton (played by Luke Thompson), the show’s long-standing bachelor, as the narrative for Season 4 revolves around his search for love.

The order of Quinn’s book series has slightly changed with the adaptation of the Netflix show. While Season 3 focused on Polin’s story, adapting the fourth book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, Benedict is the main focus in Book 3, An Offer from a Gentleman. It’s high time Benedict was in the spotlight.

Here’s everything we currently know about Bridgerton Season 4, including details on the release date, main characters, new romantic lead, and returning cast members.

When is Bridgerton Season 4 coming out?

Unfortunately, Bridgerton is expected to return no earlier than 2026. Who will be the focus of Bridgerton Season 4?

Katie Leung as Lady Araminta Gun

Katie Leung, a Scottish actress known for her role as Cho Chang in the Harry Potter films, will take on the role of Lady Araminta, the mother of the Li sisters. In her recent role in the BBC thriller Nightsleeper, she showcased her acting skills. Leung has also appeared in series like The Wheel of Time and The Peripheral.

Michelle Mao as Rosamund Li

Rosamund Li seeks to capture Benedict Bridgerton’s heart this season, though love can be elusive. She will be portrayed as the beautiful yet challenging sister. Michelle Mao, known for her roles in Sweet Home and Metal Lords, will be bringing Rosamund to life.

This is how her character is officially described: Araminta’s treasured eldest daughter, Rosamund, is stunningly beautiful and ambitious, striving to win her mother’s approval. This season, Rosamund is eager to win over Benedict and won’t back down.

Isabella Wei will play Posy, the sweet and gentle younger sister of the Li family. Following her role as Zadie in the recent remake of The Crow, Wei captivated fans as Ling Yi in Netflix’s mystery series 1899.

Her character is described as the more affable Posy, who, despite her kindness, often puts her foot in her mouth due to her overly friendly nature, causing her mother to overlook her.

Masali Baduza as Michaela Stirling

Michaela Stirling, portrayed by Masali Baduza, is a character we’ve already been introduced to. She plays a crucial role in Francesca Bridgerton’s story, gender-swapped from her book counterpart, Michael Stirling, who is John’s cousin. You may recognize Baduza from her performances alongside Viola Davis and Lashana Lynch in The Woman King or as Sephy in the series adaptation of Noughts + Crosses.

Araminta Will be One of Bridgerton’s Notorious Villains

Sophie’s secret as the illegitimate daughter of the Earl may prove pivotal during a thrilling climax in An Offer from a Gentleman, where Benedict and Violet could shield Sophie from Araminta’s plans to exile her.

However, Araminta is quick to accuse Sophie of theft as soon as she lays eyes on her.

Even without knowing Sophie’s true lineage as the Earl’s daughter, Araminta’s bitterness and schemes make her a compelling villain in the Bridgerton series. The brewing conflict between Araminta and Sophie promises to make Season 4 an exciting and dramatic installment.
