“Broken” MW3 Assault Rifle just got another huge buff and no one knows why

The meta in Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 was significantly altered by a series of buffs and nerfs, and the developers continued to make changes with the April 9 update. Several attachments and Perks were adjusted, but the SVA 545 emerged as the most successful weapon after the patch.

The Assault Rifle received a significant increase in its damage range, with improvements of 40%, 17%, and 18% to its maximum, near-medium, and medium ranges respectively.

Despite already being considered one of the top weapons in the game after receiving a buff in Season 2, the decision to further increase the power of the SVA 545 has been heavily criticized by MW3 players.

In a post shared by Reddit user ‘birb1999’, they questioned, “Why do they continue to buff the SVA? The gun is already highly effective, especially after its damage increase a few seasons ago.”They further stated, “The gun was already performing well, so why make it even more powerful?”

just why? the gun was already as fine as it could be lol byu/birb1999 inModernWarfareIII

Many MW3 players also chimed in, expressing their concerns over the decision to enhance the SVA 545 instead of addressing the overpowered guns.

“According to a comment, the SVA was already a strong weapon, but the recent buff has made it even more significant. It is now considered one of the most powerful guns in the game, second only to the overpowered Renetti which many believe should have been nerfed by now. Another person also shared their frustration, recounting how they were easily taken down with just four shots from a distance of approximately 40 meters.”

On the other hand, some contended that there are numerous weapons in Modern Warfare 3 that require a boost, while the SVA is already a highly effective choice.

“One comment stated that MW2 Marksman and Battle Rifles should be buffed since they are often ineffective. Another person agreed, adding that it seems like game developers always make overpowered guns even stronger while making already weak guns even weaker.”

After receiving this buff, it should come as no surprise to see the SVA 545 dominate the MW3 meta in Season 3. The MCW was widely considered the top Assault Rifle in the game, but with recent updates, the difference between the two has significantly diminished.
