Bronny James, the standout player for USC, has announced his official entry into the 2024 NBA Draft and has also joined the transfer portal for his second season in NCAAM.
In 2023, James played in 25 games for the Trojans and started in six of them. He maintained an average of 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
According to a report by Shams Charania of The Athletic on X, he will participate in workouts for multiple NBA teams leading up to draft night.

Bronny James was ranked as the 29th best recruit in the Class of 2024 prior to the 2023 NCAA basketball season and was expected to be selected in the early rounds of the lottery.
Despite experiencing cardiac arrest on July 24, 2023 and receiving negative projections from multiple mock draft boards, the McDonald’s All American’s stock was ultimately not impacted thanks to the support of his father LeBron James and the media.
On Tuesday, the older James firmly addressed rumors about his son’s decision to transfer.
“Despite not knowing its origins, Bronny is ultimately responsible for his own choices and will face difficult decisions. When he’s ready to make them, he will inform us, and as his family, we will stand by him in whatever path he chooses,”stated James.
As it stands, the younger James is currently projected to be drafted in the second round, but he also has the potential to be signed as an undrafted free agent and showcase his skills in the 2024 NBA Summer League.
If he were to transfer, the 19-year-old might end up at Oregon, a program he had previously considered before choosing to attend USC.
