Brown Eyed Girls’ Gain Returns After 5 Years Post Propofol Controversy: “A Significantly Changed Atmosphere”

On September 18th, JeA from the Brown Eyed Girls shared a memorable photo with Gain on her official account, expressing her gratitude by writing, “Thank you to our youngest for unexpectedly showing up at my birthday party!”

JeA further elaborated, “There were so many wonderful memories created yesterday, I’m not exactly sure how to compile them all. I’ll be uploading videos and photos with care and beauty. It was a continuous array of joyful moments. Thank you to everyone who celebrated with me; I love you all.”

Singer Jo Kwon commented, “I also bumped into Gain unexpectedly! Happy birthday, sis.”

Gain's recent appearance

JeA tagged Gain’s official account in her post. Notably, Gain has not been active on social media since April 2020. The photo highlighting her recent appearance has garnered attention due to her noticeably different demeanor.

In 2019, Gain was fined ₩1 million for the illegal use of propofol at a location in Gyeonggi Province, as part of a summary indictment.

After a period of self-reflection, Gain made her comeback to broadcast activities in June this year as a guest on KFN Radio’s “Miryo’s Freestyle.” This was the first instance in five years that all Brown Eyed Girls members appeared together on a show since 2019, sparking significant interest.

During the radio show, Gain discussed her current lifestyle, sharing, “I’m still on my diet. I’m maintaining it with proper meals. While nothing is set in stone yet, I’m doing my best to present a good image to everyone as soon as possible.”

When Miryo alluded to a possible solo project by asking “Solo?”, Gain replied, “Although nothing is definite, I’m diligently working on various aspects, both physically and in terms of my appearance, to showcase something exciting to you all. I’ve been experimenting with a lot of different things and even tried perming my hair this time.”
