BTS Dominates Singer Brand Reputation Rankings, Will They Take a Break?

During the period of May 22, 2024, to June 22, 2024, the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute conducted a comprehensive analysis of 114,908,472 pieces of data related to singer brands. This included consumer brand participation, media coverage, communication, and community engagement. The total number of singer brand data increased by 2.43%, from 112,183,198 in May to 114,908,472 in June.

The singer brand reputation index is a measurement derived from the extensive consumer data of popular singer brands, which is then analyzed through consumer behavior analysis. It is further divided into participation, communication, media, and community values, and evaluated using an algorithm that calculates positive and negative ratios to determine the brand’s reputation. This analysis allows for insights into the who, where, how, how much, and why of discussions surrounding a brand.

The top 30 singer brand reputations for June include BTS, Lim Young-woong, Seventeen, IVE, aespa, ILLIT, (G)I-DLE, LE SSERAFIM, IU, Young Tak, Lee Chan-won, Na Hoon-a, BLACKPINK, DAY6, QWER, BIBI, PSY, Jang Yoon-jung, Park Jin-young, TWS, Jeong Dong-won, RIIZE, Oh My Girl, Sunmi, TWICE, Song Ga-in, Red Velvet, Taeyeon, Car the Garden, and Kang Daniel.

According to the data analysis of singer brand reputation for June 2024, BTS was placed in the top spot, followed by Lim Young-woong in second place and Seventeen in third place.

In May, BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) had a brand reputation index of 2,860,064, ranking first among singers. This was due to their participation index of 1,205,452, media index of 2,438,066, communication index of 2,781,282, and community index of 2,623,807. Their current brand reputation index of 9,048,607 reflects a significant increase of 216.38%.

In second place was Lim Young-woong’s brand with a participation index of 1,579,689, a media index of 2,613,662, a communication index of 2,135,200, and a community index of 1,958,954, resulting in a brand reputation index of 8,287,506. This was a 4.60% increase from the brand reputation index of 7,923,400 in May.

Seventeen (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, THE 8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) ranked third place with a participation index of 576,737, a media index of 1,215,143, a communication index of 1,746,510, and a community index of 1,611,883, resulting in a brand reputation index of 5,150,273. This reflects a significant increase of 75.37% from their brand reputation index of 2,936,753 in May.

In May, IVE (An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, Leeseo) placed fourth with a participation index of 558,420, a media index of 1,150,306, a communication index of 1,246,314, and a community index of 1,605,057, resulting in a brand reputation index of 4,560,096. However, this was a decrease of 33.38% compared to their brand reputation index of 6,844,582 in May.

Fifth place, the girl group aespa (Karina, Winter, Giselle, Ningning) achieved a participation index of 633,194, a media index of 1,443,296, a communication index of 1,112,541, and a community index of 1,246,386, resulting in an overall brand reputation index of 4,435,418. According to Koo Chang-hwan, director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, BTS (comprised of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) ranked first in the singer brand reputation big data analysis for June 2024. This shows a 2.43% increase from the 112,183,198 pieces of singer brand big data in May. Further analysis revealed a decrease of 7.44% in brand consumption, an increase of 3.90% in brand issues, an increase of 4.25% in brand communication, and an increase of 5.44% in brand expansion.

He stated that BTS, whose members are simultaneously releasing new songs and fulfilling military duties, took the top spot. Lim Young-woong, who is breaking records in the music industry, came in second. In third place were Seventeen, who are connecting with fans through international concerts.
