Currently, BTS fans, widely recognized as ARMY, are vigorously promoting the “MinHeeJin OUT” hashtag, aiming to elevate it in search engine rankings as a protest against Min Hee Jin’s reinstatement at ADOR. This hashtag has reached impressive positions: 2nd and 9th in the U.S., 2nd in Canada, 3rd in Germany, 5th in Australia, 10th in France, and 4th in the Netherlands. Additionally, fans are rallying to gather signatures for an international petition.
Beyond just BTS supporters, many international fans of LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT have also joined this active protest movement.
Earlier, Jungkook from BTS subtly voiced his support for NewJeans, emphasizing that young artists should not be exploited as shields. This prompted some HYBE staff to express their discontent on Blind, a community platform for employees, where they even went so far as to label Jungkook as “THE BIGGEST IDIOT.”
While this global boycott against Min Hee Jin may not have a profound effect on perceptions within South Korea, her future as a producer is predicted to be heavily compromised.
Whether she embarks on launching a new boy group or girl group or continues her role in managing NewJeans, it’s anticipated that global ARMYs will boycott all her endeavors due to the negative connotations surrounding the “Min Hee Jin” name.
Min Hee Jin has essentially become synonymous with failure in the international market. It remains uncertain whether she will be able to secure support and investment from external entities. The unprecedented solidarity shown by global ARMYs in their boycott against Min Hee Jin is truly noteworthy.
