An episode of the entertainment show “Run Jin”was published on BTS’s YouTube channel on August 1.
Upon Jin’s arrival at the restaurant in the video, he immediately took the tongs from a staff member who was about to grill pork. He jokingly remarked, “I should handle this since I’m the youngest one here. If the staff grills it, people might think it’s a misuse of power. They don’t even know the whole story,”causing everyone to burst into laughter.
Jin was advised by the staff to wait to put the fat on the grill until before cooking and to use it to wipe the grill. In response, Jin said, “You can hear the sizzling sound, right? The timing of when to put the fat on is up to the person grilling.”He then jokingly added, “It’s just for decoration.”
After the restaurant owner clarified that the purpose of the fat was to clean the grill, Jin felt embarrassed and began wiping it, causing even more laughter.
Although Jin’s behavior may have been lighthearted, there are suspicions that he was being cautious due to the recent “power abuse”controversies surrounding BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Red Velvet’s Seulgi.
Despite the criticisms, Jennie continued to smoke indoors in front of her staff members, while Seulgi was also criticized for swapping her uncomfortable heels with a staff member’s more comfortable shoes.
