BTS Jin & Byun Woo-seok: Fans Crossing The Line Causes Damage

Jin, the eldest member of BTS, enlisted on December 13th, 2022, and after serving faithfully for one year and six months, he was discharged on June 12th. Soon after his discharge, Jin made his first official appearance at BTS’s debut anniversary event ‘2024 FESTA’. To celebrate his return and show appreciation to fans, Jin proposed a free hug event, but according to reports, Big Hit Music declined the idea.

Despite facing various challenges, Jin was able to finally meet his fans at the ‘2024 FESTA’ event in Songpa-gu, Seoul on June 13th. He made his appearance on stage wearing a sign that read ‘Please hug me’ on his chest. After his discharge, he warmly embraced 1000 lucky fans as a way to personally greet them.

Despite the awkward scene, some fans became too enthusiastic and attempted to make physical contact with Jin, even going as far as kissing him on the cheek. Jin cleverly avoided this by quickly turning his head and maintaining a friendly demeanor as he wrapped up the event.

Despite being a private event, videos of the incident were leaked and quickly spread on social media. As a result, other fans expressed their disapproval, accusing the fans involved of sexual harassment. They even went as far as to file a complaint with the Seoul Songpa Police Station, calling for an investigation into the inappropriate behavior displayed by the fans during the free hug event. It was later revealed that the culprits were well-known Japanese bloggers, who once again sparked controversy by sharing their experiences of meeting Jin and commenting on his soft and smooth skin.

Despite his immense popularity after the success of the drama “Lovely Runner,”actor Byun Woo-seok, hailed as a next-generation Hallyu star, is facing some challenges. While he receives overwhelming love and support from his Asian fans, there are also some sasaeng fans who have attempted to invade his private life. In response to this, Byun Woo-seok’s agency released a statement last month, urging fans to respect the actor’s privacy and announcing measures to protect him from sasaeng fans.

Despite the evidence of Byun Woo-seok’s popularity, as shown by the large number of fans who attended his private interview after the conclusion of “Lovely Runner,”it also brings attention to the fact that there are people monitoring his every move. This includes sasaeng fans who are willing to purchase and trade information about Byun Woo-seok’s personal schedule.

During his fanmeeting tour, Byun Woo-seok encountered sasaeng fans while in Taiwan. A Taiwanese media outlet had recently revealed that the sasaeng fans had reserved multiple cars to follow the actor and even rented the hotel where he was staying, going as far as pressing the elevator button on every floor to find his room. This situation raised concerns that Byun Woo-seok, known for his friendly demeanor, may be hesitant to interact with fans in the future.
