Jin of BTS hosted the event “Seokjin, Weather Sunny on June 13, 2024″at Jamsil Gymnasium in southern Seoul on June 13 to commemorate his discharge from the military and BTS’ anniversary. With enthusiastic support from fans, Jin made a grand entrance on his bike, reminiscent of his solo music video, before kicking off the event with his debut solo single “The Astronaut.”
After completing the song, Jin delivered BTS’ official greeting, saying, “Greetings. 2, 3, Bangtan! Hello, I’m BTS Jin. I am thrilled to be back home, a place I have missed dearly. I felt like a debutant again, as I was extremely nervous and my singing wasn’t at its best. My face and hands were trembling, it was quite an experience.”
“Yesterday, I was released from the military. After not singing for a year and a half, I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, unsure if I would even be able to sing with the sound of your cheers. Where are all of you? I miss you all so much. My heart, please calm down and stop racing. I am grateful for your support and it brings me peace. I was trembling a lot. The camera captured everything, so please check it out later. As I approached the audience, I realized that this was my life.”
Despite not having had time to prepare for singing after his discharge from the military the day before, he expressed his gratitude towards ARMYs and stated that being with them and seeing them having fun made him feel like he was back at home as a member of society.
During the event, Jin presented his first performance of “Super Tuna,”which he had released in 2021. He also hosted an eating show featuring his well-known content, EATJIN. Jokingly, Jin said, “I’m sure many of you are curious about how I’ve been doing during our time apart. Well, I actually went to the military for a while,”which elicited laughter from the audience. He went on to share, “I made great friendships with many young soldiers. Some of them were even 12 years younger than me. When they entered the army, I would jokingly tell them, ‘Hey, what year were you born? You’re 12 years younger than me. Call me
Jin further elaborated on the reasoning behind organizing the event, stating, “When the company asked me what I wanted to do on June 13, I knew I had to do this. As the members are currently unavailable, it is my responsibility to take charge. I made it clear that even if I am unable to prepare in advance, I will still make sure to carry out the event on that day.”His love and dedication towards both the fans and the group were evident in his words.
After the event, ARMYs left the concert hall with purple bouquets in their arms. This was due to Jin’s kind gesture of waiting for them and giving bouquets to those who attended the concert. With smiles on their faces, fans happily took photos of the flowers.
