On August 7, RM celebrated his achievement of making it to the top 10 of the Genius Community’s “25 Best Albums of 2024 So Far”list. He shared a post on his Instagram story featuring the list curated by the American music media outlet. RM’s second solo album, “Right Place, Wrong Person,”was included in the list.
Despite this, RM ultimately decided to delete the shared story. It appears that he was aware of the controversy surrounding fellow member Suga’s drunk-driving incident.
On the night of August 6, at approximately 11:15 PM (KST), Suga was found driving a motorized bicycle while under the influence in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. He was stopped and taken into custody by patrolling police officers. According to reports, Suga’s blood alcohol level at the time of the incident was above the legal limit for license revocation (0.08%).
At first, Suga and his agency stated that he had been riding an “electric kickboard”during the time of the incident. However, CCTV footage later showed that Suga had been using an “electric scooter.”
These suspicions sparked speculation that the term “electric kickboard”was deliberately chosen to downplay the incident. However, the agency later clarified their reasoning, explaining that they referred to the product as an electric kickboard because it had a seat attached, making it more closely resemble a kickboard.
