In December 2022, Jin joined the military and worked as an assistant instructor at the recruit training center in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province, for the 5th Infantry Division.
Jin’s time in service was marked by exemplary conduct, leading him to be chosen as an outstanding soldier and receiving an early promotion to Corporal.
It is anticipated that BTS’s Jin will depart from the military unit at approximately 8 AM on June 12th.
The agency Big Hit Music made a request for fans to avoid visiting the site on Jin’s discharge day.
Despite this, a number of fans have already put up several banners in front of the unit to give Jin a warm welcome upon his return.
A substantial amount of police and fire personnel have also been dispatched.
Media organizations from various countries, including Japan, have arrived at the location to report on Jin’s discharge.
Jin was the inaugural member of BTS to finish his military duty.
J-Hope’s service is expected to end in October, making him the second member of BTS to be discharged.
The remaining individuals are still fulfilling their duties.
Jin intends to meet his fans at the “2024 Festa”event, which will take place at Jamsil Arena in Seoul on June 13th, the day after his discharge.
The event will be divided into two parts, with the first part consisting of a hugging event where he will interact with 1,000 fans. The second part will involve a communication session where he will engage with his fans.
At the same time, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon commended Jin on his discharge and commended the BTS members for fulfilling their military duties without any special treatment or exemptions, serving as role models for others.
With Jin’s release from service, the team’s resumption of activities is anticipated to pick up pace.
