BTS Member Suga’s Alleged Neglect of Duty Results in Suspension of Special Leave for Squad Leaders

There has been an increase in criticism directed towards Suga in online communities centered around public service, as posts alleging that he was responsible for the disappearance of special leave for squad leaders have been circulating.

During the 4-night, 5-day training at the Public Service Training Center, public service workers are selected to serve as squad leaders, which is a role similar to that of a squad leader in active military service. Those who fulfill this role successfully are typically recognized with a commendation and given special leave. Additionally, volunteers are recruited to serve as squad leaders during the training.

Despite being a squad leader, reports emerged that Suga had shown a lack of commitment during the training. According to a public service worker, even the instructor noticed Suga’s lack of effort and issued a warning. As a result of his behavior, the squad’s participation rate was the lowest. It seemed as though he was trying to appear cool, much like a rebellious student trying to make a statement at the start of a new school year.

Consequently, individuals filed complaints with the Military Manpower Administration, urging for an inquiry into Suga’s purported negligence which they claimed was the root cause of his recent DUI incident. One of the complaints also raised concerns about the fairness of granting Suga a commendation and special leave despite his alleged misconduct.

The complaints are currently under investigation by the Military Manpower Administration.

The suspension of special leave for squad leaders has sparked increased criticism of Suga in online communities focused on public service.

Several public service workers voiced disappointment, stating that as a public figure and squad leader, he should have put in more effort to avoid unnecessary controversy. Unfortunately, his actions have resulted in the loss of the biggest benefit for public service workers.

A different public service worker also expressed their opinion, stating, “It’s difficult to comprehend. Even among a group of public service workers, he should have upheld his reputation as a worldwide celebrity and public figure. Was he truly unaware that there would be repercussions?”

Despite the fact that many others shared the same frustrations, they questioned the reasoning behind their suffering due to a celebrity. This was their only opportunity for special leave, and now everyone is facing consequences because of the actions of one individual.

It seems that the decision to suspend special leave for squad leaders was made in response to the widespread publicity and complaints about Suga’s alleged negligence while serving as a squad leader. This raised concerns about fairness, resulting in the temporary suspension that was put in place recently.

On August 6th at 11:27 PM, Suga was discovered alone in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul after falling off an electric scooter. Authorities in the vicinity assisted him and detained him. A breathalyzer examination showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.227%, indicating a high level of intoxication.
