BTS Takes a Break and Tops Singer Brand Reputation Rankings

During the period of May 22, 2024 to June 22, 2024, the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute conducted a comprehensive analysis of 114,908,472 data points related to singer brands, including consumer engagement, media coverage, communication, and community interactions. This showed a 2.43% increase from the 112,183,198 data points recorded in May.

The reputation index for singers is a measure that is determined through the analysis of consumer behavior and big data related to popular singer brands. It is comprised of participation, communication, media, and community values, and utilizes an algorithm to evaluate positive and negative ratios to determine reputation. This analysis allows for an understanding of when, where, how, and why people are discussing a particular brand.

The top 30 singer brand reputations for June include popular artists such as BTS, Lim Young-woong, Seventeen, IVE, aespa, ILLIT, (G)I-DLE, LE SSERAFIM, IU, Young Tak, Lee Chan-won, Na Hoon-a, BLACKPINK, DAY6, QWER, BIBI, PSY, Jang Yoon-jung, Park Jin-young, TWS, Jeong Dong-won, RIIZE, Oh My Girl, Sunmi, TWICE, Song Ga-in, Red Velvet, Taeyeon, Car the Garden, and Kang Daniel.

The June 2024 analysis of big data for singer brand reputation revealed that BTS remained in the top spot, followed by Lim Young-woong in second place and Seventeen in third.

Despite the fact that BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) ranked first in singer brand reputation, their participation index of 1,205,452, media index of 2,438,066, communication index of 2,781,282, and community index of 2,623,807, all contributed to a brand reputation index of 9,048,607. This marks a significant increase of 216.38% compared to their brand reputation index of 2,860,064 in May.

In second place was Lim Young-woong’s brand, with a participation index of 1,579,689, a media index of 2,613,662, a communication index of 2,135,200, and a community index of 1,958,954. This led to a brand reputation index of 8,287,506, which was a 4.60% increase from the previous month’s index of 7,923,400.

In the latest brand reputation rankings, Seventeen (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, THE 8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) secured the third spot with a participation index of 576,737, a media index of 1,215,143, a communication index of 1,746,510, and a community index of 1,611,883, resulting in a total brand reputation index of 5,150,273. This represents a significant increase of 75.37% compared to their brand reputation index of 2,936,753 in May.

Despite having a participation index of 558,420, a media index of 1,150,306, a communication index of 1,246,314, and a community index of 1,605,057, IVE (consisting of An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo) only achieved a brand reputation index of 4,560,096, a 33.38% decrease from their previous index of 6,844,582 in May.

In May, aespa (Karina, Winter, Giselle, Ningning) ranked fifth with a participation index of 633,194, a media index of 1,443,296, a communication index of 1,112,541, and a community index of 1,246,386, giving them a brand reputation index of 4,435,418. This represents a 2.25% decrease from their brand reputation index of 4,537,556 in the previous month.

According to Koo Chang-hwan, director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, the latest big data analysis for June 2024 reveals that BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) has maintained its top position in the singer brand rankings. When compared to the 112,183,198 pieces of singer brand big data from May, there has been a 2.43% increase in June. A detailed analysis further shows a 7.44% decrease in brand consumption, a 3.90% increase in brand issues, a 4.25% increase in brand communication, and a 5.44% increase in brand expansion.

Continuing their success, BTS, with members releasing new songs and completing military service, maintained their first place ranking. Lim Young-woong, constantly breaking records in the music industry, secured second place. Following closely behind, Seventeen, who have been connecting with fans through global concerts, took third place. In fourth place, IVE continued their world tour, while aespa’s unique hit, Supernova, earned them fifth place.
