According to the Circle Chart’s 2024 first-half Global K-pop Chart, released on July 12th, BTS claimed an impressive 35 spots on the chart with both their group and solo endeavors. Their dominant presence on the chart, which reflects global K-pop streaming usage, solidifies their worldwide fame. Notably, not only did their group songs rank highly, but solo tracks from all seven members also made a strong showing.
In the first half of 2024, BTS’s songs such as “Dynamite”, “Butter”, “Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey)”, “FAKE LOVE”, “Spring Day”, “Permission to Dance”, “Run BTS”, “Life Goes On”and “Take Two”have made it onto the Global K-pop Chart. Despite no new group releases this year, their older songs remain well-loved, demonstrating the enduring charm of their music. Particularly, “Spring Day”was originally released in 2017.
Among solo artists, Jungkook holds the record for the most solo songs (13) on the chart. His solo album “GOLDEN”, which was released in November of last year, had 11 tracks, 10 of which made it to the chart. Furthermore, his songs “Still With You”, “Standing Next to You – USHER Remix”, and the fan song “Never Let Go”(released in June of this year) also achieved high rankings on the chart.
V’s contributions consist of “Slow Dancing”, the lead single from his solo album “Layover”which was launched in September of last year. Additionally, he has also released “Love Me Again”, “Rainy Days”, and “FRI(END)S”as digital singles in March of this year. Jimin, on the other hand, earned a spot on the charts with his solo track “Like Crazy”from his album “FACE”which debuted in March of last year. He also released “Set Me Free Pt.2″and his solo single “Closer Than This”in December of last year.
RM’s solo tracks consist of “LOST!”, the leading single from his second solo album “Right Place, Wrong Person”which was released in May of this current year, as well as “Come back to me”and “Wild Flower (with youjeen)”, the title track from his debut solo album “Indigo”which was released in December 2022.
The first half of the chart also featured Suga’s title track “Haegeum”from his album “D-DAY”released under his stage name Agust D in April 2023, Jin’s solo single “The Astronaut”released in October 2022, and J-Hope’s special album “HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1″title track “NEURON (with Gaeko, yoonmirae)”which was released in March of the current year.
Furthermore, PSY’s song “That That (prod. & feat. SUGA of BTS)”continued to stay on the chart.
