On August 12th, a photo of BTS’s Jimin and Jungkook was shared by netizens in an online community. The photo was originally posted on the SNS account of a senior who had already completed their military service.
The photograph captures soldiers coming together to take a commemorative photo in honor of the senior’s discharge from the military. Among the soldiers featured in the picture were Jimin and Jungkook, who stood on either end and gazed directly at the camera.
Jimin donned a military T-shirt and pants, while Jungkook leaned against the shoulder of a fellow soldier. With approximately 8 months of service in the army, the two have grown in maturity and confidence.
Jimin and Jungkook joined the 5th Infantry Division’s recruit training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do on December 12 of last year. They underwent basic military training and have been serving their military duty there. Before enlisting, both of them had expressed their determination to return safely. They had also shared their thoughts of completing their training and proudly saluting upon their return. Jungkook had mentioned that he only truly felt the weight of his enlistment after shaving his head, while Jimin had admitted to feeling a mix of emotions.
As Jimin and Jungkook began their service, Jin, the eldest member of BTS, was working as an assistant instructor in the unit. This sparked great interest and speculation about a potential reunion of the three members.
Currently, all BTS members except for Jin are serving in the military. Jin, on the other hand, completed his military service earlier this year.
