On July 8, it was announced that BTS’s Jin had been chosen as the global brand ambassador for luxury jewelry brand Fred. In addition, the brand released several new photos of the male idol donning Fred jewelry.
After the announcement, it took only a few hours for all the Fred items worn by Jin in the photos to be sold out. These items, worth thousands of US dollars, were in high demand. Despite this being a testament to Jin’s star power, some fans expressed disappointment.

Specifically, supporters highlighted the fact that Fred is a subsidiary of LVMH, which is ultimately controlled by billionaire Bernard Arnault, who has investments in an Israeli company. Therefore, Fred and other LVMH brands are being singled out for a potential boycott by pro-Palestine activists.

Consequently, there has been a growing movement among BTS fans to boycott Fred jewelry, despite Jin’s endorsement. These fans have expressed their disappointment as the Fred jewelry worn by Jin quickly sells out, emphasizing that the thousands of dollars spent could have been allocated towards more compassionate causes, such as supporting Palestinian and pro-Palestinian ARMYs (fans of BTS).
