BTS’s Jin Tops June Boy Group Individual Brand Reputation After Military Discharge

The Korean Business Research Institute conducted a study from May 15, 2024, to June 15, 2024, analyzing the brand reputation of 730 individuals from boy groups. They utilized a brand reputation index based on consumer behavior analysis, using participation index, media index, communication index, and community index, after extracting 64,291,771 pieces of brand big data. The data for May showed a higher number of 65,478,517 pieces of boy group brand big data, indicating a decrease of 1.81% in June.

The brand reputation index is calculated by analyzing brand big data, which shows the significant influence of consumers’ online behaviors on brand consumption. This assessment enables the assessment of both positive and negative aspects of individual boy group brands, including media coverage, consumer interest, and communication levels. The analysis of brand reputation encompasses qualitative evaluations of brand value and monitoring of its reputation, with weighted recommendation indices.

The individual brand reputation rankings for top 30 boy groups in June 2024 are led by BTS’s Jin, followed by Astro’s Cha Eun-woo, BTS’s Jimin, Wanna One’s Kang Daniel, BTS’s Jungkook, and BTS’s V. The list continues with The Boyz’s Younghoon, RIIZE’s Wonbin, BTS’s RM, Shinhwa’s Lee Min-woo, BTS’s J-Hope, and BTS’s Suga. According to the analysis of brand big data for June 2024, Jin from BTS has maintained his position as the top individual brand reputation among boy groups, as stated by Koo Chang-hwan, Director of the Korean Business Research Institute. Compared to the previous month’s data of 65,478,517 pieces, there was a slight decrease of 1.81%. A closer look at the analysis revealed a decrease of 6.20% in brand consumption, 9.95% in brand issues, and 6.26% in brand diffusion, but a significant increase of 16.37% in brand communication.

He added, “According to the link analysis of BTS’s Jin, who was ranked first in the individual brand reputation of boy groups in June 2024, ‘discharge, thank, congratulate’ were the most prominent. In the keyword analysis, ‘free hug, ARMY, fan meeting’ were highly evaluated. The analysis of positive-negative ratio revealed a positive ratio of 95.07%.”
