Choi Jin-min Acquires Villa Formerly Occupied by BTS’s Suga
As reported by Biz Korea on November 28, a villa in the prestigious UN Village located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, is set to change hands. The property, which was previously leased by Suga, a member of the globally renowned K-Pop group BTS, has been purchased by Choi Jin-min, the founder of Kiturami Group, a prominent boiler manufacturing and sales company, along with his wife, Kim Mi-hye, who previously served as the director of the Kiturami Welfare Foundation.
Details of the Property Sale
The couple has officially signed a purchase agreement and initiated the process of provisional registration for the transfer of ownership with the court, which will precede the final payment. Ownership of the villa will be divided, with Choi retaining 25% and Kim 75% of the property.
Villa Specifications
This stylish villa boasts a duplex layout with private living space measuring 268.96㎡ (approximately 81 pyeong) and a total area of 411㎡ (124 pyeong), including a supply area of 320.7㎡ (97 pyeong).
Suga’s Property History
Significantly, this villa was Suga’s home until very recently. In November 2018, the BTS star acquired another luxury property in the same prestigious area, named Hannam Riverhill, for approximately 3.4 billion KRW. He subsequently transitioned to another residence, Parc Hannam, in November 2021. Notably, his lease deposit of 9.5 billion KRW for that villa was reportedly financed by his agency, Big Hit Music.
Current Residence of Suga
As of May this year, Suga has made Nine One Hannam his new home. This luxury complex is a popular residence among celebrities, including G-Dragon from BIGBANG and actor Bae Yong-joon, who resides there with his wife, Park Soo-jin. G-Dragon notably drew headlines when he purchased a penthouse with a coveted rooftop terrace for an astonishing 16.4 billion KRW in cash in March 2022.
