On August 31 (KST), Samsung Electronics Paraguay’s official account posted photos of Suga in a Samsung projector advertisement with the caption, “This is how one should utilize the Freestyle 2nd Gen projector.”
Samsung Electronics Paraguay has shared photos of Suga using the projector in different settings, such as a studio, outdoors, and a workspace.
Despite being long-time brand ambassadors for Samsung Electronics, Suga and the other BTS members faced a temporary setback when Suga was investigated by the police for suspected drunk driving. On August 24, Samsung Electronics Germany removed advertisement photos of Suga promoting the Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone, causing speculation about his future partnership with the brand.
It appears that the controversy surrounding Suga’s role as an advertisement model has been resolved, as Samsung Electronics Paraguay has resumed advertising with him.
ARMY, the devoted fan base of BTS, is joyfully embracing Suga’s comeback to Samsung Electronics commercials. Messages such as “The speculation about Samsung Electronics parting ways with Suga was absurd,””Samsung Electronics will not regret their choice,”and “Suga was unfairly criticized in Korea, we appreciate Samsung Electronics’ support,”were accompanied by purple hearts, symbolizing the love for BTS.
Meanwhile, ARMY members in South America showed their support for BTS by displaying a banner in front of HYBE’s headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The banner read, “BTS is not alone, ARMY stands by them.”It is believed that Samsung Electronics Paraguay was influenced by this local support when making the decision to resume Suga’s advertising activities.
Despite his role as a brand ambassador, Suga has consistently expressed his fondness for Samsung Electronics. In July of last year, he took to his social media to share a photo of his Samsung Electronics employee ID, referring to it as his “first employee ID”. This ID was reportedly given to him as a gesture of gratitude from Samsung Electronics.
Despite being asked for selfies by fans, Suga has remained a faithful brand ambassador by consistently requesting a Galaxy instead of an iPhone, demonstrating his unwavering loyalty to the brand.
