BTS’s V and Jungkook Proceed With Lawsuit Against Malicious YouTuber Sojang

According to a report from Star News, Big Hit Music and BTS members V and Jungkook filed a lawsuit against A, the operator of the YouTube channel ‘Sojang’, back in March. The lawsuit, seeking 90 million won in damages, will finally have its first trial on August 23rd at the Seoul Western District Court’s Civil Division 12, five months after it was originally filed.

Previously, Big Hit Music has consistently taken legal action against individuals who have infringed upon the rights of their artists by making defamatory statements and insults. In June, they specifically mentioned ‘Sojang’ and stated that a complaint for defamation and obstruction of business was filed against them for the year 2022. Although the initial investigation was suspended, Big Hit Music has actively requested for it to be resumed by providing the authorities with necessary evidence, resulting in the case being reopened. Furthermore, a civil lawsuit has been filed earlier this year to seek compensation for damages caused by Sojang’s defamatory and illegal actions. The civil trial is expected to take place soon.

Despite the passage of time, Big Hit Music remains committed to seeking justice for the alleged crimes committed by several suspects. They have sent these suspects to prosecution and are eagerly awaiting the outcome of the criminal proceedings. Big Hit Music affirms that they will persevere in taking decisive legal action until justice is fully served.

V previously addressed the matter on the fan community Weverse. Upon reviewing videos and screenshots of the mentioned YouTuber, he declared, “I see. I will pursue legal action. I deserve some compensation for my troubles. You have even caused harm to my loved ones. Farewell.”

V continued, “After observing the situation, I came to the realization that this person is disliked not only by us, but also by other artists. Regardless of whether fans and ARMYs have been keeping track of this, I will take action for those who have been hurt and unable to voice their pain. I will proceed with legal action.” In response to a fan’s comment advising him to not be bothered by negative posts, V replied, “Rest assured, I have a strong mentality, similar to Suga’s.”
