The Static-HV received a significant nerf in Warzone Season 5 Reloaded, causing confusion among players about which weapon to use for close combat. Fortunately, another SMG has emerged as a strong contender after receiving a significant buff.
Ever since its introduction at the beginning of Season 5, the Static-HV has been dominating lobbies. However, in the mid-season update, it was finally balanced. Its damage range was decreased overall and its headshot and leg modifiers were also lowered.

The Reloaded update brought significant buffs to the UMP45, also known as the classic SMG from the original MW2. Its damage range has been greatly improved, making it a formidable contender against popular close-range weapons such as the Static.
The impact of these changes on the TTK was analyzed by CoD specialist IceManIsaac in a recent video on his YouTube channel. He evaluated the top SMGs currently in use in Warzone, and the outcomes were clear.
Although the Superi 46 and Rival-9 were highly competitive at very short distances, with TTKs ranging from 600 to 700ms, their effectiveness rapidly declines beyond the 15-meter mark.
Throughout, the Striker maintained its consistency with a time-to-kill of 651ms up to a distance of 26 meters, where it proved to be the most dominant weapon in its category. The only other comparable option was the MCW with the Conversion Kit, which had a slightly faster kill rate up to 20 meters but significantly dropped off beyond that point.
Upon experimenting with it in a few matches, utilizing our top Striker loadout featuring the JAK Slash Underbarrel, I discovered that the SMG achieved an ideal combination of being highly agile and nimble, yet capable of swiftly taking down any foes who dared to approach too closely.
IceManIsaac concurred with this evaluation, labeling it as a “beam”and the “ultimate Sniper support”in Warzone.
