Destiny 2’s PvE Overhaul: Revenant Act 2 Update
Bungie is gearing up for significant changes in the PvE sandbox of Destiny 2 with the upcoming release of Revenant Act 2. Scheduled to launch on November 19 during the Weekly Reset, this update promises to introduce new loot and gameplay content that will be essential for avid players seeking fresh challenges.
Substantial Buffs for Underperforming Subclasses
In a detailed blog post dated November 14, Bungie addressed player concerns about the imbalance in Super recharge rates. The developer acknowledged that their previous adjustments inadvertently led to an uneven pick rate between one-off Supers and roaming versions. To rectify this, they have re-evaluated “damage-based recharge parameters” specifically for roaming Supers when facing PvE enemies.
Improved Super Energy Generation
Post-update, players can expect a nearly 300% increase in Super energy generated from damaging enemies, enhancing the frequency at which roaming Supers can be activated during gameplay. “The intent here is to ensure that players are more likely to have access to their roaming Supers when they need them, whether for sudden encounters or unexpected enemy spawns,” Bungie elaborated. Furthermore, the damage output against Champions will receive a considerable boost, ranging from 30% to 55% depending on the specific Super used.

The detailed list of Supers receiving buffs includes:

Community Reactions and Future Considerations
Despite the anticipated improvements, some players, particularly those using Stormtrance, express skepticism about its viability post-update. A user on Destiny 2’s subreddit commented, “It’s not merely about the frequency of Stormtrance; it’s ineffective against enemies regardless.” This sentiment seems to resonate widely within the community, highlighting the ongoing challenge of finding the right balance in Super effectiveness.
Looking Ahead
Bungie recognizes that the adjustments represent a significant shift in the game mechanics and is committed to ongoing evaluations of Super performance in the weeks and months to follow. Players hoping for enhancements to their preferred Supers may still have to endure a waiting period for optimal balance.
Rolling out such substantial buffs cautiously is important to avoid issues reminiscent of the Forsaken Nova Warp situation. As the update unfolds, community feedback will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Super dynamics within Destiny 2.
