‘Burning Sun’ Documentary Reveals How ‘Molka’ Victim & Late Goo Hara Helped to Uncover Case

The “Burning Sun”case was covered in a documentary, where a Korean reporter emphasized the role of the late Goo Hara in obtaining justice for “molka”victims like herself.

The “Burning Sun”controversy in South Korea, one of the biggest controversies of 2019, was brought to light by the British public broadcast service on May 19th through their official YouTube channel, BBC.

The Korean journalists were reminded of their unforgettable memories of the Kakao Talk group chat involving Jung Joon Young. This chat room contained disturbing conversations between Seungri, Choi Jong Hoon, and others about their victims, along with video evidence of their crimes.

The “Burning Sun”scandal was surrounded by intense controversy, particularly in regards to the gang rape and sexual assault case involving Jung Joon Young and former F.T. Island member Choi Jong Hoon.

During the incident, they carried out their malicious scheme at a hotel while the woman was under the influence. The most devastating aspect was that Victim A believed they were friends.

She also had a close relationship with Kim and Heo, who were involved in the GC and recorded illegal videos of her, as well as participating in the crime with them.

Despite the victim bringing the case to the police, the lack of crucial evidence made it challenging to provide her with complete justice.

It was a challenge to identify the “Police Prosecutor General,”who was believed to be shielding the K-pop idols involved, as this information was difficult to uncover.

Upon mentioning the individual who aided them in resolving that portion, Reporter Kang emphasized that it was none other than the late Goo Hara, a fellow K-pop icon known for her success as a member of the group KARA.

During the phone call, Hara stated:

“I want to help you.”

The idol had been a close friend of Choi Jong Hoon since their days as trainees and was also familiar with Seungri and Jung Joon Young.

While they were gathered, Hara noticed them using their phones, leading her to speculate that something strange was happening.

During that time, the transcripts revealed two significant concerns: sexual offenses and involvement with the police. The unresolved matter was whether the individual in question truly existed and if there was any collusion with the police.

Goo Hara proceeded to contact Choi Jong Hoon and assisted the reporter in extracting a plethora of information from the idol, including the true identity of the senior police officer supporting them.

Thanks to Hara, it was verified that Yoon Kyu Keun was indeed a genuine individual who had been employed at the presidential residence.

The journalist, who expressed gratitude to the deceased Hara, portrayed her as a street-smart, self-sufficient, and courageous individual.

Reporter Kang suggested that Hara could relate to the victims, given her own experience as a “molka”and sexual assault victim.

In 2018, her former partner broke into her home while she was asleep and violently attacked her. Throughout the legal proceedings, Choi Jong Bum repeatedly threatened to release their intimate videos, potentially damaging her career.

Despite facing her own personal struggles, Hara played a crucial role in resolving the “Burning Sun”case. However, in November 2019, she tragically took her own life, leaving the entire Korean entertainment industry devastated by her loss.

Despite her life being cut short at the age of 28, she was able to make a lasting impact on the justice system in Korea.

The first measure involved imposing harsher penalties on individuals involved in the distribution of “molka.”The second aimed to stop absentee parents from receiving inheritance from their abandoned children, while the third focused on identifying and exposing instances of police corruption.
