On June 12th, the official ‘tvN Drama’ account shared a video with the caption, “A fan who ran with Seon-jae on piggyback in real life…”
The video showcases a fan’s review of winning a lifesize photo of Ryu Seon-jae at an event. The fan arrived with a caption that read “Brave appearance in Sangam-dong?”and was thrilled upon seeing the photo, exclaiming “Seon-jae is the perfect gift!”
As the champion proudly posed with a life-sized photo of Ryu Seon-jae by her side, the editor playfully added the caption, “‘Lovely Runner’ in the flesh,”eliciting laughter from the audience. She then safely made her way to the bus stop in Sangam-dong and caught the attention of onlookers as she took a 4cut photo with the life-sized image of Ryu Seon-jae.
Specifically, Byun Woo-seok, the actor portraying Ryu Seon-jae in the drama, personally commented on the video expressing his envy. Upon seeing his message, fans gathered on the post and left a whopping 700 comments, further showcasing the actor’s immense popularity.
At the same time, tvN’s “Lovely Runner”is a time-slip drama centered around Im Sol, a die-hard fan of renowned celebrity Ryu Seon-jae. Im Sol, who had lost all hope, travels back in time to 2008 in order to save her beloved singer. Following the drama’s immense success, Byun Woo-seok is currently experiencing a peak in his career, receiving remarkable levels of popularity. The Korea Reputation Research Institute’s recent analysis ranks Byun Woo-seok as the third most recognized celebrity, coming in just behind Lim Young-woong and Kim Soo-hyun.
Despite the drama ending, the actor continues to hold the top spot on the popularity chart for four consecutive weeks. Additionally, his self-sung OST “Sudden Shower”has made its way onto the Billboard Global 200, breaking a new record.
