On June 3rd, Byun Woo-seok, the actor who gained fame through tvN’s drama “Lovely Runner”, held an interview at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Despite having done multiple interviews for the past three days, the actor maintained a bright and cheerful demeanor while answering questions from reporters.
“In “Lovely Runner”, Im Sol (Kim Hye-yoon) faces challenges as she tries to rescue her beloved idol Ryu Seon-jae (Byun Woo-seok). Byun Woo-seok portrays the role of Ryu Seon-jae, the lead singer of the popular boy group Eclipse. Ryu Seon-jae’s role as the group’s visual center and his first love in high school has caused quite a stir.”
During an interview, Byun Woo-seok expressed his love for the romantic comedy genre and specifically mentioned his admiration for the drama’s theme of selfless love. He compared the character to Noah from “The Notebook.”This was not the first time Byun Woo-seok had mentioned Noah, as he also referenced the character in an interview for Netflix’s series “20th Century Girl”in 2022.
When questioned about his approach to dating in real life, the actor stated, “I am someone who becomes emotionally invested in my partner,”clarifying that this trait is similar to Ryu Seon-jae’s.
When asked about his ideal type in a previous interview, Byun Woo-seok shared, “My ideal type’s appearance tends to vary. What matters more to me is having compatible personalities and good communication. I have a goofy side, so I am drawn to intelligent women.”
As the reporter chuckled, Byun Woo-seok responded, “Was my response too formal?”He stressed, “But that truly is my ideal type. Communication is of great importance.”When prompted to elaborate further on his ideal type, Byun Woo-seok paused for approximately 10 seconds before stating, “I am drawn to women who do not use profanity.”He added, “It may seem amusing, but I prefer individuals who speak kindly.”
