On June 19th, an interview video featuring actor Byun Woo-seok was uploaded to the YouTube channel “Harper’s BAZAAR Korea.”
In the video, Byun Woo-seok was filled with a shy smile as soon as he came across the description, “An actor in his eighth year who caused a stir in South Korea with the ‘Ryu Seon-jae Syndrome’ in the year 2024”, and pondered, “Is this accurate? Thank you.”
Byun Woo-seok disclosed that he underwent two months of vocal training to portray Ryu Seon-jae in “Lovely Runner”. He also mentioned that the song “Sudden Shower”was a result of collaboration with the music director, who provided valuable feedback during the recording process. This ultimately contributed to the success of the song.
When questioned about any past experiences he regrets or was caught off guard by, Byun Woo-seok confidently replied, “To be honest, there isn’t anything I wish to erase. There may have been a few moments that were cringe-worthy, such as when I was much slimmer during my time as a model. Looking back at my thin self, I couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. During that time, I was constantly traveling and attending casting auditions for the Milan Fashion Week for a solid 2 weeks. I was determined to attend as many auditions as possible, which led me to skip meals.”
He recalled, “In those days, I did a lot of walking. I didn’t have much money, so I estimate I walked for about 8 hours.”
The actor expressed his desire to travel to numerous countries and explore the world on his bucket list.
