Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Developers Announce Season 2 Challenge Tracking & Zombies Co-op Pause Feature

Black Ops 6 Season 2 Enhancements

The highly anticipated Season 2 of Black Ops 6 introduces crucial features such as the ability to pause or rejoin a co-op Zombies match and the functionality to track challenges in both multiplayer and Zombies modes. These updates significantly enhance the gaming experience and address long-standing player concerns.

Previously, players encountered frustration when a Zombies match was interrupted, often resulting in lost progress. However, with the introduction of the new save and quit feature, players can now save their session at any time, provided they are not downed or dead, and they are at full health. Additionally, should players remain inactive for a specified duration, the game automatically saves their progress, offering peace of mind.

Initially, this save feature was limited to solo gameplay, leaving friends unable to pause their shared sessions. Season 2 rectifies this limitation while also making the grind for camouflages more manageable for players.

Here’s an overview of the quality-of-life enhancements rolling out in Season 2 on January 28:

  • Challenge Tracking & Near Completion (Zombies and Multiplayer)
    • Players can now manually track up to 10 Calling Card and 10 Camo Challenges per mode, streamlining the process of monitoring progress.
    • If the player has fewer than 10 challenges being tracked, the game will automatically display the nearest challenges to completion, aiding players in targeting specific goals.
    • The most relevant Calling Card and Camo Challenges will be visible both in the Lobby and the Options Menu during gameplay.
  • Co-op Pause Feature
    • In co-op matches, the party leader can now pause the game, allowing teammates to regroup, strategize, or take necessary breaks during intense rounds. This feature has been highly requested and is a welcome addition as part of Season 2.
  • AFK Kick Loadout Recovery
    • If a player is kicked for going away from the keyboard (AFK) during co-op games, they will have the opportunity to rejoin and recover their loadout, minimizing interruptions to gameplay.
  • Separate HUD Presets for Zombies and Multiplayer
    • Players can now customize HUD presets independently for Zombies and multiplayer modes, eliminating the need to adjust settings each time they switch modes.
    • This enhancement had been in development and prioritization originally slowed its implementation; however, it’s now ready for the community.

These updates not only enhance the user experience but also show the developers’ responsiveness to community feedback. The continuous evolution of Black Ops 6 keeps players engaged and excited for what’s next.
