Activision is rolling out a swift update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 shortly after its launch to rectify bugs that significantly affected gameplay, including fixes for map exploits and XP accumulation. While many bug-fix patches tend to have a minimal effect, this particular one promises substantial improvements.

The debut of Black Ops 6 has been extremely successful, as evidenced by the high player engagement and relatively few server issues and severe gameplay bugs. Nonetheless, some glitches remain, which Treyarch plans to resolve with the upcoming patch on October 26.

This patch will not include any changes to weapon balance or nerfs to overpowered builds like the SVD, but there are still many enhancements and fixes coming. Below are the detailed patch notes for BO6 on October 26:

Loadouts

  • The last-selected loadout will now be clearly highlighted when accessing the Loadouts menu in-game.

Operators

  • Fixed an issue regarding Bailey’s animation within the Operators menu.

Settings

  • The ‘Mute Licensed Music’ option is now functioning as intended.

Maps

  • Babylon
    • Closed a loophole allowing players to exit the designated play area on Babylon.
  • Lowtown
    • Resolved an exploit that let players escape the intended play space on Lowtown.
  • Red Card
    • Fixed an exploit allowing players to leave the defined play area on Red Card.
    • Enhanced stability on the Red Card map.
  • General
    • Corrected stability issues linked to in-game interactions.

Modes

  • XP and Weapon XP rates for several modes that were previously awarding insufficient XP have been increased:
    • Team Deathmatch
    • Control
    • Search & Destroy
    • Gunfight

Matchmaking

  • Addressed a bug that occasionally hindered prompt replacements for players who quit during matches.

Firing Range

  • Players are now able to choose a Loadout in the Firing Range, irrespective of their level progression.

Private Matches

  • Matches will no longer be forfeited if one team is left with zero players.

Theater

  • Improved performance while viewing clips in the Theater mode.

Training Course

  • Strengthened server stability within the Training Course environment.

    • Resolved a problem where the incoming missile sound from the Dreadnought would play indefinitely.

  • Rectified an issue where the Ace Medal was improperly awarded under certain conditions.

  • Fixed an issue in the Boat Race in Terminus that sometimes prevented it from completing correctly.

Liberty Falls

  • Addressed a problem that could result in zombies not spawning in Liberty Falls.

Gobble Gums

  • The Wonderbar! GobbleGum now correctly awards players with a Wonder Weapon.

Gameplay

  • S.A.M. Trials
    • Updated text in S.A.M. Trials to accurately reference the LDBR.
    • Fixed an issue where S.A.M. Trials would not spawn in certain matches.

Stability

  • Included various fixes to enhance crash issues and general stability.

UI/UX

  • Resolved discrepancies in player progression levels shown on the Scoreboard.
  • Fixed an issue where the main menu interface failed to display the player’s correct progression level.
  • Improved overall stability in the main menus.

  • The Store will now correctly refresh after the purchase of the C.O.D.E. Endeavor Pack.
